The Kenya High Commission in Dar is telling Kenyans in Tanzania to “shelter in place” and stay in their homes on 9 December, yet a simple Google search already pulls up reports of civilians being gunned down in their homes and house-to-house operations by Tanzania security forces during these same post-election protests.

"Victims were followed into their homes and shot as friends and families watched, witnesses recounted to The Washington Post.....

So why is Kenya’s Foreign Affairs ministry recommending that Kenyans lock themselves inside the very places that have not been safe for Tanzanians themselves, instead of demanding credible guarantees of protection, evacuation plans and accountability from the Tanzanian state.
