Ethiopia is the only country in the world with 13 months and their New Year starts in September and they are currently in 2016.

Ethiopia is also the only African country with its own alphabets. It has the world’s oldest living alphabets – Ethiopic and probably one of the longest with its 345 letters. In addition, the oldest fossil skeleton of a human was discovered in Ethiopia.

Interestingly, Ethiopia is one of the only TWO nations in the world never to have been occupied. This is despite the Italians twice trying and failing to take the country.
