The Myth of Bangladesh’s Creation: A Strategic Triumph, A Diplomatic Folly

India’s 1971 military victory was decisive and historic. It broke Pakistan in two and gave birth to Bangladesh. But while our soldiers delivered a stunning battlefield success, India’s political leadership failed to secure lasting strategic gains. The creation of Bangladesh is often hailed as a diplomatic triumph — but history tells a different story.

1. Secular Promise, Islamic Reality

India supported a secular Bangladesh. Yet by 1988, Islam was declared the state religion. Today, political Islam thrives in Dhaka, undermining the very values India fought to protect.

2. Persecution of Hindus

Hindus, once 20% of Bangladesh’s population, have dwindled to under 8%. Systematic discrimination and violence continue — a shameful reality that India has largely ignored.

3. The Chicken’s Neck Left Exposed

Despite military dominance, India failed to resolve the vulnerability of the Siliguri Corridor. A secure land corridor through northern Bangladesh could have integrated the Northeast — but no such arrangement was ever pursued.

4. Migrant Crisis Ignored

No agreement mandated the return of illegal Bangladeshi migrants. As a result, Assam, Bengal, and the Northeast face unchecked demographic change, sparking social unrest and political instability.

5. No Access to Chittagong Port

India did not secure access to the strategic Chittagong Port. Five decades later, the Northeast remains landlocked — despite having birthed a nation through blood and sacrifice.

6. Insurgents Found Refuge

For decades, Bangladesh served as a base for anti-India insurgents Groups exploited the vacuum India failed to close in 1971.

Conclusion: A Victory Undone by Silence

India’s military triumph in 1971 was not matched by strategic foresight. What could have been a new regional order was reduced to a one-sided act of generosity.

Had Mrs. Indira Gandhi been alive today, the nation would have questioned her for mishandling the decisive victory won by our armed forces.

The creation of Bangladesh was not a bargain — it was a historic opportunity lost.

A 17-year-old Hindu girl jumped from a roof to escape torture by a Muslim boy who blackmailed her with AI-edited photos in Ghaziabad.

My friend’s sister worked day and night, scored well in the IIT entrance, but didn’t get a seat. Her classmates, scoring 30–50 marks less, walked in effortlessly, thanks to caste-based reservations.

And here’s the twist: those classmates come from families worth over ₹10 crores. Her father? A farmer with 4 hectares of land, struggling every day to fund her education. She’s not just heartbroken, she’s in depression, under treatment for months. This isn’t a failure of merit, it’s a brutal slap by a broken system.

We’ve had reservations for 75 years. Let’s be honest, a large section of reserved categories has progressed socially, economically, and politically. Discrimination laws exist. Opportunities exist. So what’s the justification now? Why punish merit, why ignore economic hardship, and why keep rewarding privilege just because it’s caste-tagged?

And now, a caste census to further divide and cement this madness? India isn’t progressing, it’s trapped in a bizarre loop of outdated politics, where caste matters more than capability.

This is not empowerment. It’s legalised injustice.

देश के ईमानदार अधिकारियों को ईमानदार होने की बहुत बड़ी कीमत चुकानी पड़ती है , वो अकेले जुगनू बनकर तो चमकते हैं लेकिन सिस्टम में रहकर सिस्टम से लड़ते लड़ते हार जाते हैं ,जिस जुनून और आत्मविश्वास से सिस्टम का हिस्सा बनते हैं, यही सिस्टम उन्हें तोड़ देता है,

लेकिन जो ��रामखोर अधिकारी नेताओं की चापलूसी करते रहते हैं, वो नेताओं और माफियाओं की तरफ से फेंकी हुई घी रोटी ( पोस्टिंग) का आनंद लेते हैं ।

अगर नाथ जैसे पुलिस अधिकारी सिस्टम में आ जाएं और हम उनकी ताकत बन जाएं तो ऐसे बहुत सारे ईमानदार अधिकारियों को हिम्मत मिलेगी और वो अपना काम कर पाएंगे।❣️

To those attempting to distort history: We Kashmiri Pandits, the indigenous people of the Kashmir, faced four major exoduses under Islamic regimes:

Sultan Sikandar (1389–1413) – Nicknamed Butshikan (“temple destroyer”), he imposed Sharia law, banned Hindu practices, razed temples, and issued an ultimatum: convert, flee, or die. Thousands of Pandits were forced to abandon their homeland.

Chak Dynasty (1550s–1580s) – Sectarian Shia rulers who targeted both Sunnis and Pandits. Hindu officials were purged, temples desecrated, and the Pandit community endured systemic repression and expulsion.

Afghan Durrani Rule (1752–1819) – Arguably the darkest era. Afghan governors treated Pandits as second-class citizens, imposed heavy jizya (non-Muslim tax), and sanctioned abductions and forced conversions. Public executions were not uncommon.

Islamist Insurgency (1989–1990) – Armed militants chanted: “Raliv, Galiv ya Chaliv” (“Convert, Die, or Flee”). Assassinations, temple burnings, and open threats forced over 100,000 Pandits to flee overnight, leaving behind homes, temples, and ancestral graves.

This was not “peaceful demographic change.” It was centuries of fear, blood, and exile.
