Don't let Pokemon fans see Air Blast. They'll claim it's "literally Rayquaza".
Dragon Drive, the franchise Air Blast is from, came out in 2001 (manga) where as Pokemon Generation 3 was 2002.
@MelsRequiem Pokemon didn't just pull that out of their ass. Dragons are glorified lizards. Lizards are cold blooded and hate the cold. Ice is cold. Ice beats dragons.
Are we really going to shit post over weapon triangles and type charts?
@ForestRaider I still like the franchise but I've realized Game Freak doesn't put out effort in their pokemon games. Let's not pretend Scarlet/Violet were good. Let's not pretend ZA was good.
Palworld fans aren't toxic. They are just tired of pokemon fans defending mediocrity.
This disingenuous coping needs to stop. Because both are whales they claim it's a cheap copy. These Pokemon loyalists will squint their eyes at anything if they can make a copyright accusation.
...I feel like the similar art styles make the comparisons inevitable.
Like, Game Freak doesn't own the concept of a legendary/divine whale creature...
But you have to be incredibly dishonest to not immediately think of Kyogre when you see this.
@Palworld_EN I haven't played at all this current year of 2026. Not for lack of interest, but because I don't want to risk burnout leading up to the 1.0 launch. Now, I plan to devote an entire 4 day weekend to binging it fresh.
Such a beautiful piece by xcupman. Thank you.
Akane and Dragon being wholesome.
I think Dragon is seeing through Akane's charm though. She likely won't get what she wants later....
@DramaAlert I'll take your engagement bait.
No, this game looks great. No agenda, no narrative, no bullshit. Just a fun racing game. If you played Star Wars Racer for the N64 or early PC, this is just a modern polished version of that it would seem. And THAT was a blast.
