🧵 QUIL vs VCs: Why It Matters
(And why last night revealed the essential truth)

1️⃣ The key moment: Cassie reveals the truth about VCs

Last night, in the middle of the technical chaos, Cassie dropped a bomb:

🟥 “VCs were already here two years ago.”
🟥 “I talked to every major firm in the market.”
🟥 “They all wanted ONE thing: tokens.”
🟥 “I booted them.”

No structured funding.
No real help.
Just predatory behavior.

QUIL is one of the very few projects that said NO to VCs.

2️⃣ Why rejecting VCs changes everything

Most modern L1s:

✅ What's Changing

Quilibrium is upgrading its core consensus system (the technology that helps all nodes agree on the network state) with a more reliable version. This upgrade fixes the issues that occurred during recent enrollment attempts and makes the network more stable overall.
The new system is based on "HotStuff" consensus, a proven technology used by other major blockchain projects. This change will soon be released in version 2.1.0.5.

✅ Why This Matters

The previous system had difficulty handling real-world scenarios like nodes starting at different times or some nodes being temporarily offline. The new system breaks operations into smaller, more manageable pieces, making it easier to handle these situations.

The upgrade means Quilibrium can better handle nodes joining the network at different speeds, temporary connection issues, and other common network conditions without disrupting consensus.

✅ Rigorous Testing

The team has conducted extensive testing to simulate real-world conditions before releasing the update. Tests include scenarios with nodes starting late, nodes running slower, and even some nodes temporarily misbehaving or being offline.

One important test simulates the worst-case scenario where nodes upgrade at completely different times, just like what happens in real network conditions. The new system handles all these situations smoothly.

✅ Coming Soon

The 2.1.0.5 release will bring these stability improvements to the network. A separate stream later this week will cover updates about QNS (Q Name Service), Quorum Mobile, Q Console, Q Storage, and the upcoming QKMS (Q Key Management Service) features.
