Since our founding in 2000, Qorvis has navigated a lot of change. One thing has remained constant: for 25 years, we’ve stood by our clients through peaks and valleys, helping them manage volatility and global shifts with the human intelligence that comes from being in the room.
We kicked off our 25th year at Café Milano with longtime clients, government officials, diplomats, journalists, and dear friends. Cheers to the next 25!

Hantavirus. Ebola. Travel restrictions. Event Cancelations.
“We’ve been here before” isn’t something you want to hear when it comes to disease, but you do when it comes to managing the response.
Organizations that survive are the ones that are prepared before the crisis hits.

President Trump has arrived in China for a summit with President Xi—the first meeting between the two leaders in nearly a decade. Will it open new opportunities and create a more predictable business environment? Or will it amount to little more than symbolism?

SCOTUS blocked Louisiana’s congressional map that created a second majority-Black district. The decision bars use of the map in future elections, which dissenting justices warned weakens the Voting Rights Act. Qorvis Partner @RichMasters explains the impact.
Thank you to Raheem Kassam and the team at Butterworth’s for keeping the drinks flowing and the mood steady, to Ambassador Dr. Ralf Heckner and Dr. Ilaria Macconi Heckner for opening their home in the midst of the uncertainty, and to all of our guests for joining us at this extraordinary moment in history.

The normally celebratory, irreverent #WHCD turned into a surreal breaking news moment. As events unfolded at the Washington Hilton, we watched in disbelief as reports came in from colleagues in the ballroom and the situation escalated.
As the situation became clearer, #WHCD after-party hosts collectively decided to move forward with the evening. We joined Ambassador Dr. Ralf Heckner at the @SwissEmbassyUSA for the @TIME and @Mercuria party that is always the highlight of the weekend – a bit more subdued, given what had just occurred, but a welcome chance to unwind together.
Nothing straitforward about the strait
🚨Top line: Order/counter order = no assurance
➡️Turns out Freedom of Nav can’t be restored by social media post🙄
➡️FAC/FIAC making pretty much their first outing - more where that came from😬
➡️Tanker under attack said it was cleared, suggesting Iranian SA fail. Not sure about this - I would expect them to have a decent handle🤷♂️
➡️Either way, risk of miscalculation ever present
📖Exam Q remains as it has all along; will the US blockade (and other efforts) cause sufficient pain to persuade Iran to relinquish their (ongoing) control of the strait?
⛔️’Not yet’ clearly the answer…today
Global business leaders – particularly in developing markets – are ready to move from discussion to action, says Qorvis Director William Sadler at the @WorldBankGroup and @IMFNews spring meetings in Washington, D.C.
The blockade of Iran has stunned the world and reshaped the dynamic of peace negotiations. This week, Qorvis asked our global team of experts about how the international community is reacting.

➡️Had a v interesting chat with Gen Kristoffersen. Private, but an eyeopener in terms of the differences between Norway and us. Across the board.
