@steady_drumbeat Unfortunately you've already proven your conception of the Israel/Palestine issue is a projection of your own politics, so whatever claims you make about what Palestinians "actually" mean is meaningless.
Listen to what they say & do, not your reframing of what they want & do
@yaelbt War is the worst thing in the world, except for what causes war
Sometimes people do bad things and won't stop doing those bad things until they are forced to stop. That is war.
@kkalev@_ZachFoster Made up quote
Lies and distortions every single time
I'm clear about what I've said - it's an opinion, not decided international law
That you pretend otherwise and make it about something else is telling about your arguments and ability to understand basic points
@kkalev@_ZachFoster No, it's that people like you try to use Epistemic Washing by burying simple truths (i.e. that is an opinion) under mounds of obfuscation and quotes from irrelevant bodies and reporting from different people to give the appearance of legitimacy . . . You've built a house of cards
@kkalev@_ZachFoster The quote you sent - the VERY FIRST SENTENCE STATES "ADVISORY OPINION"
Do you not read what you claim as proof? Or is that term unfamiliar to you?
Always lies and distortions
Every. Single. Time
@kkalev@_ZachFoster You mean the ICJs non-binding advisory statement?
That body is not a high court final arbiter of truth. Sadly the UN is compromised - only about 30% are Democracies and 25% are Muslim, so whatever is said in the UN (run by majority & consensus) about the US & Israel is suspect
@mockett_ad76329@_ZachFoster You claim:
Palestinians are >5000 year old people
Jews were Palestinians
Names don't mean anything
Sovereignty is based on living someplace
And you think I'm the rambling one?
Maybe put together an actually coherent argument besides blood & soil nonsense and we can discuss
@kkalev@_ZachFoster Who had sovereignty before Israel?
Not the Palestinians
Jordan relinquished sovereignty in 1988, but they had lost control of the territory 20 years earlier
So who's land is Israel "occupying"?
You're just repeating the usual ignorant talking points that mean nothing
@VerminusM This is an incredible opportunity to make a Beaufort Fort into a BnB - they already have facilities set up, just maybe have to redecorate the rooms a little . . .
@mockett_ad76329@_ZachFoster You are a very confused person who looks at DNA & what that means in terms of sovereignty (hint: nothing). You probably think that Jews are merely a religion, not a people & those people who lived exactly within the modern borders of Israel are ancient Palestinians?
Ahistorical
@mockett_ad76329@_ZachFoster Philistine refers to the ancient seafaring Greek peoples of antiquity.
Modern Palestinians are Arabs who have nothing to do with that ancient extinct people
Pretending they do is a denial of history and is disqualifying from any serious discussion
@mockett_ad76329@_ZachFoster Do research yourself. The area was in decline through the 1700s. Massive influx of Egyptians fleeing conscription in Muhammad Ali if Egypt's military in 1830s.
There were never Palestinians. They were Arabs, Egyptians, Circassians (~1870s), Levantine and Jews. Not Palestinians
