I'm realizing how much of a bubble AI twitter is the last few days, most people's view of AI is a magic black box that requires a massive supercomputer/datacenter to run that noone can ever compete with.
Fable is 8 gpus and a 4tb csv file bro
A lot of people were really surprised by me praising/saying to use opus. This field is changing every week and you have to capitalize on opportunities or shifts in capabilities as quickly and as much as possible. You don't have a choice. You cannot afford to play favorites.
I suspect that the Chinese labs won’t shut off releases bc the Chinese state semiconductor complex sees them as a demand driver too, particularly as they get more heavily codesigned for deployment on Huawei hardware
We are now in the barbell era of AI where most of the midwits in the center of the IQ distribution will be turned into dust as they waste time writing meaningless code while the geniuses and dummies take full advantage of ai agents to find the real valuable use cases.
this is a pretty common take on ct especially, like I'm one of those people, I guess, who learned stuff from computer games, but as much as "I want to believe", ultimately it's cope
No, the kid who did raids in WoW or grinded eve online or Runescape or whatever else is not a great default hire because of his "skills". The key component you are missing is him being interested/passionate in whatever it is you want him to work on, cause if he is not, he is just going to half ass his job and come home to play WoW...
Same for chess grandmasters who frequently make mediocre quant hires. Intelligence is just not directly transferrable and genuine interest (or even better passion) beats inteligence/gaming acquired "skills" 99% of the time
WoW players make good team players so they prob thrive in roles where their job scope is v specific. Can grind but prob lower agency.
StarCraft players are control freaks that do well in roles where they can control everything but can’t deal with uncertainty. Maybe good middle manager types. “Fate is in my hands etc.”
(Good) DotA / LoL players do well anchoring teams in chaotic high turnover situations with high failure rates. You can do your job perfectly and still get fucked by retards.
Maplestory players. Can spend 12 hours pressing the same two buttons killing mushrooms without hydration. Good as factory workers screwing on caps onto bottles. Prob gamble any money they have on -EV trades.
Runescape players. 95% Turbo normies and 5% wildy min maxers (PvP) or market makers (PvE). Dont ever turn your back on them if they don’t seem retarded.
WoW / MMO Guild Leaders. “Fate of universe is in my hands”. Politicians, strategists. Always finding ways to get ahead. Good founders / C suite types. Might end up in jail.
