Maurice: "Son, remind me again why I'm doing this."
Joel: "Because, Maurice. It's been 7 months since your last one."
Maurice: "And you said this'd last."
Joel: "Everything gets less effective as it ages, Maurice."
Maurice: "Is that a crack about me?"
Joel: "No comment."
Joel: "You got me."
Maggie: "But you do it. You're the doctor."
Joel: "Counting to 1 or 2 takes very little medical training."
Maggie (glares)
Joel (looks at test)
Maggie: "Well?"
Joel: "2."
Maggie (smiling): "Yeah?"
Joel (nods and pushes his toes to hers under the table)
Maggie: "This is your fault, you know."
Joel: "This is quite literally a situation where it takes two to tango. So to speak."
Maggie: "Don't start with me."
Joel: "Oh, come on. Shouldn't we at least look at the test? For completeness' sake?"
Maggie: "Always the scientist."
Joel: "We're just... not going to talk about this?"
Maggie: "About what?"
Joel: "The test that's waiting for you in my office?"
Maggie: "Shh! Not here, at lunch, in the middle of the Brick!"
Joel: "Yeah, because we'd never air our private sexual dirty laundry in here..."
Joel: "Okay. But the air traffic control guy told me -"
Maggie: "Fleischman. I have been a flight instructor for 6 years. You landed this thing once. So help me God, if you don't shut up and stop 'helping', I will make absolutely sure you go back to being terrified of flying."
Joel: "Don't you think you need to throttle up a little bit?"
Maggie: ...
Joel: "It just seems like your approach is kind of slow when you're going into a headwind and-"
Maggie: "We're doing just fine."
Joel: "I just know when I landed, I -"
Maggie: "I. Said. We. Are. Fine."
Joel: "O'Connell..."
Maggie: "It is! And you're trying to placate me until we get home so you can tell me I'm dying there. What do I have? Tell me. A degenerative brain disease? Cancer? What? What is it that makes me throw up every morning and...oh. Oh. *Oh*!"
Joel: "Yeah. Oh."
Maggie: "Want to get lunch before we go?"
Joel: "Sure. You feel ok?"
Maggie: "Ok enough to fly."
Joel: "Great. That's really good. I'm glad."
Maggie: "Why?"
Joel: "Why am I glad you feel ok?"
Maggie: "Why did it take so many words to say it and why do you sound so perky?"
Joel: "I'm in trouble for being in a good mood and worried about your well-being?"
Maggie: "You're not in a good mood. This is that 'Joel Fleischman on his best behavior' thing you do when you're nervous. So spill."
Joel: "Well, so -"
Maggie: "Oh God, is this about my health?"
Joel: "Because I'm low on medical supplies. A very specific supply, on which there's been an unexpected run lately."
Maggie: "What is it? Do you think I have something?"
Joel: "I'm starting to."
Maggie: "Something bad? What's that look? Am I going to be okay?"
Joel: "Yeah..."
Joel: "3 days now, O'Connell..."
Maggie: "I'm fine."
Joel: "O'Con-"
Maggie: "Really, I am. Or getting that way, at least. You'll make it; we aren't going to be out here forever."
Joel: "This isn't about me camping."
Maggie: "Yeah right."
Joel: "Okay, maybe it is a little."
Maggie: "That pill you gave me yesterday did the trick, too. You have one more. I'll take that, and we'll fly back home in an hour when it kicks in."
Joel: "You're prescribing medicine now? Then I'll set our flight plan. We're flying to Fairbanks. And then home."
Maggie: "Why?"
Maggie: "What about 'for better, for worse'?"
Joel: "Okay. We're almost out of food. You're sick and I can't help because I only have my emergency bag. But let's get up and go watch the sunrise."
Maggie: "Really? Wait, is this for romance or spite?"
Joel: "Little bit of both."
Maggie: "Hey. Get up. Quick."
Joel: "What's wrong? Is something outside? Do you feel bad again?"
Maggie: "No. But i's almost sunrise. Let's go watch."
Joel: "What? Why?"
Maggie: "'Cause it's romantic."
Joel: "Which part of it? Look, it's 2:45 am. You're sick. Lay back down."
Maggie: "Where's your sense of adventure? It's the midnight sun. This only happens-"
Joel: "Every. Single. Summer."
Maggie: "Not since we got married."
Joel: "This isn't going to become a regular feature with us, is it? I should have put something about camping in our vows."
Ed: "I still can't believe he got them down okay. Maurice said the air traffic guys were really impressed. You think you could do it?"
Ruth-Anne: "Ed, there's not a plane on this earth that's big enough to hold all the people it'd take to force me onto one in the first place."
Shelly: "Look, H! Baked a cake for America's birthday!"
Holling: "Well, Shel, I say that's a mighty fine looking cake you've got there."
Maurice: "Is it? It's kind of lopsided here. And needs more frosting on this part."
Shelly: "I did my best. What do you want? I'm Canadian."
Joel: "I came lot closer to dying in a plane crash today?"
Maggie: "No. This time we both know I wouldn't mind fooling around with you in here."
Joel: "Wait, really?! *Last* time, you... I recall you brandishing a weapon at me that night."
Maggie: "I was playing hard to get."
Maggie: "You built a very credible fire, I'll say that. And put this tent up with minimal whining."
Joel: "I'm saving it all up for when you feel better."
Maggie: "First flying, now camping? People say married couples start to act alike but we're setting a landspeed record."
Joel: "No. I hate both just as much as the last time this happened. Especially camping. I'm both too hot and too cold, mosquitoes are everywhere and biting only me, there's bears and wolves and God knows what else outside-"
Maggie: "Yeah, but this time there's a big difference."
