Dogs, housing, horses, music, molly dancing and history are my things. Oh and I'm type 1 diabetic on a wonderful medtronic 780G insulin pump and Libre CGM.
@DiabeticDadUK I just got one too... my favourite so far is sweet potato wedges. Because I am a lazy person I bought a bag from Tesco's sale shelf, they were awesome... instructions on the packet think if was 20 mins on 200. Crispy coating, swishy innards ๐
We hope our film โWhat a cure feels likeโ helped portray what itโs like to live with T1D every day.

@FionaTomlinson3@BT1DUK I feel exactly the same Fiona, tears streaming down my face just feeling a little more visible. Many thanks to everyone involved, will be sharing far and wide... we can do this ๐๐๐ช ๐
@carldlsmith5@DiabeticDadUK ...prior to having the pump. Previously (on pump and libre) was 15 to 25% in range (though had been ill with covid). Now? About 65 to 70% in range. PLEASE consider it. My path? Get on whatever tec you can and apply for all improvements as it's invented! Good luck ๐ @parthaskar
@carldlsmith5@DiabeticDadUK ...pump takes the strain. In one 24 hour period there were 3 hours of "maximum insulin delivery" followed by 3 hours on "minimum insulin delivery", both accompanied by a beep and a BG test to ensure I was still alive!! But no matter, proves NO WAY I'd have predicted or coped..
@Anna90523382 I bought myself a band which you wear to gently hold the libre in place... this helped, along with additional patches which increase the area of stick...
@DiabeticDadUK I am on the medtronic 780g which is very reliable, and now I am linking with guardian g4 sensors to HCL. I recommend both but don't know how easy it is to access for you... I had to meet some criteria but thankfully now been on HCL for about 3 months, it's great.
@RicDixon85@DiabeticDadUK Morning! I've been on HCL for about 5 weeks now and my nights are MUCH better. Unsurprisingly this has led to much improved sleep ๐ even if my daytime line is still ๐๐๐๐... I had very 'up and down' nights before and variable, so hope you have the same improvement x
@ghmd I think Titch is setting a good example... lots of rest and TLC as you start this next phase xx thinking of you and keeping everything crossed โค๏ธ
@DiabeticDadUK What I have accepted is that, if I don't pay some attention, I'll have to spend much longer in hospital over the course of my life, than I want to. Once I got that, caring about A1c / TIR kind of follows. It hasn't been an easy journey...
@DiabeticDadUK My a1c has never been that good, in 40 years! The HCL is improving that ๐คwhich is ๐ฏ but also means * I can (mostly) sleep through * I worry about it all less * my rubbish maths skills are no longer needed all the time * confident I'll need less hospital time as I age ๐
