All children learn differently.
For ECEs and EAs noticing how a child learns is just as important as what they’re learning.
Here are 3 ways to notice and prompt learning that help you create inclusive, individualized opportunities for every child. 🧵
3. Documentation:
Capture each child’s learning journey over time.
Collect artifacts, photos, and notes, then review and reflect.
For example: Create a portfolio for each child with pictures, anecdotal comments, and samples of their work.
The words we use matter, in emails, meetings, classrooms, and beyond.
Inclusive language isn’t just a buzzword. It’s a way to show respect, build trust, and reflect the diverse world we live in.
Here are 5 principles to help you use language that includes, not excludes. 🧵
5. Avoid unnecessary descriptors:
Don’t mention someone’s race, age, gender, disability, or sexual orientation unless it’s relevant.
If it doesn’t add to the story, leave it out.
