๐๐ณFor a less polluted Queensbridge Road๐๐ณ๏ธโ๐
@QueensbridgeRd
Let's turn Queensbridge Road, Hackney, London, into a beautiful road and de-prioritise motor traffic.
๐Make Low Traffic Neighbourhoods work for all.โ๏ธ
On my estate residents park their cars for ยฃ39.25 per year, that's 3 pounds/month, one tenth of a pound/day. This valuable land is used for car storage instead of a place to enjoy & kids to play in. How will you redress this awful imbalance favouring car ownership? #GrillPhil
We must reduce traffic! Let's start with:
- roads with illegal levels of #airpollution?
- roads with the most polluted schools?
- roads where people have their greatest exposure?
- roads with the lowest car ownership?
Or side roads with low pollution & high car ownership!๐
Time to put an end to illegal pollution levels in London, and prevent further tragic deaths like Ella's. Tackle motor traffic, the biggest polluter immediately.

@BarryShawkins @jonburkeUK@hackneycouncil I'm no traffic planner either, but:
- safe cycling infrastructure
- de-prioritise motor traffic at junctions
- give space currently taken up by parked cars to pedestrians
- adequate taxation of motorists, who are currently subsidised by non-drivers
Ever since the LTN came into force, we have heavy traffic issues in Queensbridge Road. It's a residential road too and kids now breathe in more polluted air. Can you please adjust the design @hackneycouncil@jonburkeUK
?
@SaveColumbiaRd@LivesNye The great majority of road space in the picture is allocated to cars, and not cyclists or pedestrians. What are you complaining about?
@SaveColumbiaRd@LivesNye Huh? Lots os used bikes and no car in unwanted road rather. Bike lane is certainly wanted and has no effect on traffic flow anyway.
@iambrianjones@Queensb92932176@alexjarmitage@RhodesEstate Particularly now that the protected cycle lane is extended, BUT is interrupted by the narrow canal bridge, and will only run south to north. Or at least a give priority to oncoming vehicles sign, make motor traffic single lane, but protected cycle lane both directions.
@Queensb92932176@alexjarmitage@RhodesEstate I think itโs such a good idea that Iโve tweeted about filtering Queensbridge Rd at least 4x since 2018

@soxgnasher Thanks for posting all those pictures from around Queensbridge Rd. It's shocking how many decent buildings were demolished in the 60s and 70s. I guess the priorities were different then.
