In a world where black and brown people have always been forced to have the short end of the stick, and take whatever we can cause “at least it’s something”, the pacification of us being happy that Amber got something is hurtful. We got folks getting 20+ years for killing animals
using a relatives address to have better access to schools, and cops still not being held accountable for killimg unarmed black people. This “justice” is another showcase of just how tipped them scales are of that chick justice as she peeks from under her raggedy ass blindfold
the foundation of this nation.
As people who claim to be people of faith, we have real work to do...and we cannot be silent, still or complicit any longer... There are lives in risk.
Ya'll!!! This 4 day weekend @cts_chicago ROCKED me all the way with my Living In2 Our Commitments course. I spent the first two days exploring Chicago and learning about organizations that are intentional about pouring back into their communities through funding and employment.
The next two days, we sat with and in the uncomfortable topic of race and how systems really play into the exploitation of black and brown people. I am still raw but ever challenged to be apart of the change and solution and not play into the role of the systemic ism's that are
