I enjoy reading about Oakland’s racist history because it affirms that nothing happens overnight and that southerners who migrated to the Bay Area faced both new and familiar forms of racism.
You mean to tell me, the guy with the Nazi tattoo, who waxed poetic about his time in Afghanistan, reenlisted multiple times, then decided to go back as mercenary with black water would threaten his enemies with sexual violence, and is a rapist? You’re kidding!
The amount of people in here blaming the Black parents for letting their son socialize w/ white kids
instead of going after white parents for failing to teach their kids not to kill or abandon their Black ‘friend’ is weird & internalized racism
I keep telling folks, men lie, women, and numbers lie too. Analytical racism is real.
It is a branch from the same poisonous tree as scientific racism. It belongs to the same tradition as phrenology, eugenics, IQ testing, crime statistics, medical racism, and every other so-called “objective” system or dataset that has tried to turn the myth of Black inferiority into a measurable “fact.”
The "rap music is making Black people behave criminally" arguments are surfacing again. Y'all keep rediscovering antiblack common sense from decades ago. Please read Kimberlé Crenshaw's smart 1991 op-ed, "Beyond Racism and Misogyny: Black Feminism and 2 Live Crew," where she carefully exposes the moral panic surrounding rap music. NBA sources believe Jaylen Brown thinks he’s the smartest person in the room, per @colincowherd
“I had two NBA sources … two people in the league, one an executive, one a scout, say that Jaylen Brown has — it’s a disease. He suddenly thinks he’s the smartest guy in every room he’s in … You make a lot of money, suddenly you’re absolutely sure, you don’t wanna listen to your bosses, you don’t wanna listen to consultants, you don’t wanna listen to teammates.”

@MajestyRia No, she isn't right. She is saying the song makes people scam and boost. False. Scamming and boosting comes mainly from larger hegeminic societal forces. We're not going to act like the wealth gap in this country is black folks' fault.
