Craven Cottage (28,000 seats), designed by Archibald Leitch, opened in 1896...
...isn't big enough to seat every gun violence corpse from America in 2025 (38,762).
This generation of so-called leaders of the free world always choose to postpone expense and risk to the next day, year, and administration. But the price always goes up. As Truman said, don't measure sacrifices with teaspoons with the fight is on.
genuinely deeply bleak shit here. like we have these plutocrats draining wealth out of the whole world and it isn’t even for anything, they don’t even seem to have good lives like how deeply miserable is this man. just a few dozen lonely vampires at the top all scared of dying.
I’ve never seen anything that so perfectly encapsulates how right wingers think more than this video. They have zero consistency of beliefs. No ideology
Today, citizens will attend shows, concerts & sporting events, enjoying a freedom they assume is the natural default state of historical human experience.
Encroaching totalitarianism is like high blood pressure, the silent killer.
You don't feel it killing you so you're slow

Trump insists “we were losing a trillion dollars a year to China.” In reality it’s called “buying things.” We gave them $1 trillion, they gave us $1 trillion worth of goods. Why doesn’t he understand this?
If you had an elderly parent babbling like this you would take away their credit cards and checkbook, but Congress lets Trump blow up the US & global economy with tariffs and tweets.
'Zelenskyy's courage, clarity and moral probity holds up a mirror where Trump can't hide from his own depravity.'
James O'Brien thinks Trump hates Zelenskyy because 'bigots hate nobody more than the mirror holders,' and when 'he's reminded of what he truly is, the mask slips.'
Republicans won’t do anything even now that Trump is arresting judges. They’re happy to pretend America elected a dictator because he’s from their party and because they’re cowards. You can’t wait out Putinization. By the time you care, it’s too late.
The Trump-Supreme Court battle is not really the crisis.
The crisis is here now. Trump is enacting an insidious coordinated attack on our institutions of democratic accountability, designed to crater democracy before next fall.
1/ A long 🧵to explain the plan & how we stop it.
Opinion: There is no school of foreign policy realism, or trade mercantilism, that could explain Trump’s actions. If you want to forecast the world, study his psychology. While Trump is in charge, stay short on America. https://t.co/VJxBJhXT2f
No, the meeting did not go badly for Ukraine. It exposed in the most undeniable, unequivocal way possible the pro-Putin commitments of the president and vice president. That was information Americans and allies needed to have clear before them.
