@m0pan_40k Jabba having C-3P0 translate is largely for the audience rather than having subtitles, and also to sell that Jabba (like most hutts) feels too important to bother speaking in a lesser tongue. Worth noting that Basic isn't english, just a language the listener can understand

@m0pan_40k Generally speaking, every species that interacts with other races can at least *understand* Galactic Basic, even if they do not or CAN not speak it. Some others are common to know like Huttese or Ithorian for various reasons, though ones like Shyriiwook are rare.

@m0pan_40k The prequels get flak on both sides for being "too political" in plot and "too action oriented", but I still love them BECAUSE of those very things. It's interesting seeing the era before the empire, and all the bureaucracy that caused problems.

One thing to keep in mind with Bioware is that despite how restrictive things seem now, for the time they were pushing boundaries. They had to SNEAK a lez romance into KOTOR

@m0pan_40k particularly starting with season 3 is really picks up both in story quality and with models and animation. Eventually it morphs to become one of the best pieces of star wars media. Filoni's other CG shows are good after you see all of that (Bad Batch and Maul in particular) 2/2

@m0pan_40k As an honest opinion from a lifelong star wars fan, watch the first 6 movies in either production order or numerical order (either works despite what folk say), then you could try watching Filoni's CG Clone Wars cartoon. It's very kid-y in s1+s2, but
