With the NC Campaign Finance Tracker tool, you can find clear and complete data for any state lawmaker, or statewide executive or judicial official. 🔎
Not sure just what you're looking for? It's also easy to find which state lawmakers represent what area, what committees they serve on, and what industry groups are giving them money.

@triciacotham Kind of ironic coming from the guy who just asked Greensboro and High Point to give up some of their tax revenue to the towns in his district last year.
"Is @DukeEnergy the biggest spender in North Carolina politics because they have deep sentimental concern for good policy, or is it because they like making money?"

@mattyglesias Lessons from @RoyCooperNC:
- legitimately authentic, nice dude
- very effective as Attorney General
- has avoided any significant scandal, pretty clean
- triggers Cooper Derangement Syndrome in opponents

[NEW] Follow the Money in North Carolina Politics
The campaign finance reporting system for politicians in North Carolina is notoriously poor. Not only is it 30 years old, but it's difficult to search, and even harder to make meaningful connections between what you find.
(This is by design.)
That's why, today, the Carolina Forward team is releasing the NC Campaign Finance Tracker. We're making campaign finance reporting easier and clearer than it's ever been in North Carolina.

The NC Utilities Commission — at Duke Energy’s request (according to security) — is barring anyone with an electronic device from entering the hearing room for Duke’s public rate case proceedings in Lumberton. Including media, who have been turned away. #ncpol
@CarolinaJournal I’d be interested in how the increases in local taxes stack up to funding cuts from state and federal budgets. My understanding from local officials is that a lot of the increased spending in local governments is compensating for shortfalls from above.
Wow: big new poll out today, commissioned by the conservative @JohnLockeNC:
U.S. SENATE:
🔵@roycoopernc: 48.9%
🔴@whatleync: 41.1%
Note: since September, Cooper's lead over Whatley has doubled.
NC SUPREME COURT:
🔵@anita_earls: 40.6%
🔴@repsarahstevens: 38%
CONGRESSIONAL GENERIC BALLOT
🔵Democratic: 48.3%
🔴Republican: 43.8%
TRUMP APPROVAL: (-9)
STEIN APPROVAL: (+18) 🤯
Poll conducted by Harper Polling (🔴pollster) from 3/22-23. 600 Likely voters. MoE 4%.
Senator Hagerty says 80% of Americans support voter ID — so what’s the problem with the SAVE Act?
Here’s the problem Senator Durbin already explained on the Senate floor:
The SAVE Act doesn’t accept driver’s licenses.
50% of Americans don’t have passports.
80% of Americans support voter ID.
Zero percent of Americans support accidentally disenfranchising themselves.
The people most likely to lack passports:
— The elderly
— The poor
— Rural Americans
— Young first-time voters
— Military families who move frequently
The people most likely to have passports:
— Wealthy Americans
No one is defending illegal voting.
The question is why a voter ID bill was written in a way that disqualifies the most common form of American ID.
Senator Hagerty doesn’t want to answer that.
Neither does anyone else who wrote it.
