Government has the wrong incentives. At a certain point we have to look at open source projects and think about the contributors incentives to make better projects.

Why can't government be more like open source? Government is closed source.

It's impossible to be closed source but incentivized to serve the public good. If you really wanted a thriving society, you would open source the entire government. It would be far cheaper, transparent, and far more efficient.

Why not? Because of the lust for power that comes with those careers. It's human nature, and we can't escape that unless we start over, you know, like in a start up city!

When their system inevitably collapsed, a new system will already be in place.

I was a witness in a criminal case. I noticed the DA, the Defense and the Judge we all using AI. Why do we not yet have an AI judicial system? Everyone states their case, the AI asks more questions, evaluates evidence, and makes a verdict. Cut out the middle man!

Most governments still run on institutions designed before the internet. A system designed today could use AI to personalize services and automate routine cases, blockchains to make public money and rule execution auditable, and digital identity to reuse verified information across services.
