@MelodyCrystel@MadamSavvy "how many attempts of pic-generation is could take to get a reference they like" - the one time I did this, I generated 20k and manually scored 5k samples (the other 15k were filtered using a classifier trained on my scores). I still like the results but I did get a headache :p
@Crowsky13@MadamSavvy@kofidereVT Sure, that's why I'm paying a human for it. (e.g. my profile pic, and a few other items I'm very fond of, were the result of generating and scoring a few thousand samples to get past "I'll know it when I see it" and then commissioning with that as a ref)
@DIYKitAponia@garybasin@hecubian_devil Largely because they've been burned repeatedly by demand bubbles and there's no faith that the demand this time will be sustained. Personally I do not expect the current demand to be sustained, but if it actually is, supply and demand will take effect in the medium-run.
@dioscuri@markyeg Pretty close for a mid to low level bigtech developer. (e.g. SDE I at amazon if the stock is doing well or SDE II if the stock is doing poorly)
@WarMonitor3 There is a crucial difference between "has committed a crime" and "on a watchlist." Or, for that matter, between "potential terrorist" and "terrorist." Many people have *potential* for many things, but people should be judged based on what they actually do.
@johnfsymons Was scrolling through my old replies, now don't endorse this one - "While school doesn't teach skills *efficiently*, it has more than zero educational value on net and you do need to do the things for that" and "You won't always have *cheap* access to AI once the bubble bursts"
@johnfsymons as opposed to, say, paying another human to do the work - "everyone paying someone else to do it" doesn't scale, whereas "everyone using an AI to do it" can.
@BfflWffl@wramented@dankmemesdoot Speed? Yeah, mostly (though elliptical orbits are used for some applications). Direction? Absolutely not - if you want to serve anywhere even kinda far from the equator, especially from LEO, you're going to be in an inclined orbit. And at *lots of different inclinations* overall.
@Medicfox@GunsAndRockets1@SciGuySpace Well, yes, part of the unofficial design spec for Orion was being too heavy to launch with anything other than SLS. Lighter capsules are possible.
@Willrandship@_sn_n The price of lithium has varied over a range of more than 10x over the past few years and is currently holding at around 3x 2020 prices.
@Floxi_1@lispeaks_ Note that you asked it to convert 1000 km to miles, and instead it converted 1000 miles to kilometers. Correctly! But that wasn't the question.
@PPGMacro I'm still confused by why the housing units under construction shot up and stayed wildly elevated around 2020/2021 while there was no comparably sized change in housing starts or housing completions. Just abruptly started taking longer?
@triplchii What we should do is burn the waste in fast reactors and then build ominous spike fields with omnilingual warnings with absolutely nothing under them, just for the vibes.
