These kids sold a video-sharing website for $1.65 billion in 2006.
Then vanished overnight.
Today, that site is worth over $455 BILLION dollars.
Here's why they walked away from the most valuable website in history:
We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.
Thank you,

EXCITING NEWS: A new YouTube update will let Creators send people from their Shorts to their long-form videos.
A new announcement on the YouTube Help page is an absolute game changer. On August 10, 2023, YouTube said that by the end of September, creators will be able to link their Shorts viewers to their other YouTube content, such as long-form videos. This is what it looks like now:
I strongly believe this update will have an effect on a very large number of channel types. So, here are four ways that this update could be good for channels:
1. Creating trailers & sneak peeks for all kinds of content.
When people made trailers or teasers for their content in the past, they didn't always get the results they had hoped for. With this update, you'll be able to tease your content on Shorts and make it easy for people to find the longer version that is being teased. This will make a big difference for creators who don't post very often but put a lot of time and money into their work.
2. Directing viewers from clips to full-length podcasts.
If you have a podcast, you can now take clips from this podcast and use them to link to your podcast on Shorts. Viewers will learn that all they have to do to see more of this type of content is click the link on the Short. This will make it easier to capture people to watch this kind of content.
3. Encouraging people to watch more educational content.
A lot of educational material is broken up into small pieces, like "10 Ways to Improve Retention." When people watch Shorts and see a piece of advice, they might not think twice about the fact that there might be more where that came from. With this new feature, creators may be able to get viewers interested enough to also watch the other tips.
4. Creating new kinds of Call-To-Actions.
While the examples above are more about smaller parts of a bigger puzzle, this feature can also be used as a call to action to another piece of content. In this way, it can be used in a way that is similar to how end screens are used. You deliver them a value, and tell them to watch more of your content.
Even though this feature is still being worked on, the fact that they told us about it is exciting. Most of you already know that I don't like Shorts as a way to get people to watch your long-form content, but this feature might change my mind. When the new feature comes out, I'll be sure to try it out and see what the true impact is of this feature. I'll let you know what I find out.

Today, after nearly 25 years at @Google, I’m stepping back to start a new chapter. I'm inspired every day by creators around the world who bring people together on @YouTube. It's been an honor to have a front row seat to this incredible community. https://t.co/063sYalPzX
