Just in case shit goes further south, I added links to other socials here as well as my guides for the OG Obey Me game and Twisted Wonderland newbie guide https://t.co/9ISLFztonv
Still just can’t believe that Bungie delivered Into the Light, then Final Shape right after, but THAT STILL WASN’T GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE HIGHER UPS. Absolute joke of leadership who just care about a paycheck coming to them, not about people who are passionate about making a game.
Unfortunately I was also hit by the layoffs after doing QA at bungie for the last 2 years. It is devastating leaving my dream job but I know there are more opportunities out there. If you have any openings I am definitely looking for work!
Leadership needs to be changed.
Their decisions have consistently led to disaster for everyone who has actually been making the games we play.
They’ve been reckless with the studio, its employees, and its franchises.
The problem is clear. Bad leadership. It needs to change.
> Mass Layoffs
> Huge content rebound success (ITL)
> Insanely well-received yearly expansion, putting the previous one to shame & capping off the 10 year saga on a high note
> Mass Layoffs
make it make sense
Destiny 2 ranked as the fifth highest revenue-generating title for June 2024, surpassing Valorant, Diablo IV, GTA V, and Roblox, according to a report by Newzoo - https://t.co/P8Qr7I4ljx
I was hit with Bungie layoffs today. Sucks since this was my first gig as an audio programmer and I was the only fully dedicated audio programmer.
Anyone looking for a really passionate audio programmer? 🌞
What type of message does it send to those affected & those remaining when our devs cook THIS HARD only to be sacrificed for c-suite salaries?
This is a cardinal failure in leadership.
Honestly, how much “success” is needed in Destiny? Forsaken wasn’t seen as a success by Activision and now the Final Shape has turned to this.
Lightfall was said to be meddled with… I think Destiny is actually cooked until leadership changes and realistic goals are set.
I have been impacted by the recent @Bungie layoff.
After nearly 6 years, today marks my last day.
It was an incredible run, and I’m so proud of what I worked on. I’m even prouder of the teams. The people.
Much love to everyone else effected, and I hope you land on your feet.
I was Nate's manager. He was the QA owner for nearly all of King's Fall, Spire of the Watcher, and Salvation's Edge where he tackled some of the most challenging problems the team has ever encountered. Did you love Salvation's Edge? Nate had an insurmountable impact on it
@BritannicMight@Spuck469@SolWatcherKP@PaulTassi Your right he's just like everyone else and should be compensated fairly, not grossly overpaid. He should be held to the same standard as the lowest employee and has shown poor judgment in management and steering the ship. He should be fired.
"I hope it's not me"
"I did so well on my review"
"My work on that title was invaluable"
"I didn't make any mistakes"
"I did everything they asked of me"
"That person was the best, why did they get let go?"
"Is this random?"
"They don't care about us"
I don't think anyone at Bungie is really surprised
We worked our fucking asses off knowing this was probably coming. The people at Bungie did it anyway, and we will continue to do it, because we love our community and our art.
What a shame, that giving so much amounts to this
I have also been impacted by the Layoffs at Bungie. My path forward is to look for Game Dev work in Design (including Tech Design), whilst spinning up an Indie Studio. It's time to change how this industry functions.
