My weekend bike rides have also become my social hour(s) and the time where I enjoy everything LA has to offer.
45 miles.
From Santa Monica to the Redondo/Palos Verdes border and back.
Met my buddy in Santa Monica for the 1st portion of the ride (rode, and chatted it up).
Stopped in Hermosa beach for a coffee at Martha's.
Met my other buddy in town from Miami at Erewhon in Venice for a $25 Tuna Wrap.
5 hours total but a day filled of many activities, and tremendous amounts of vitamin D. Such a beautiful day.
Legs are cooked.
Everyone is pooh-poohing the legacy prop-tech providers right now, acting like they've been left behind in the AI era.
I've seen something different.
A handful of the industry's gorillas have been moving a lot faster than people realize.
There are going to be some very big announcements over the coming months.
Don't count out the incumbents just yet.
When you already control the market, you don't have to move at everyone else's pace.
Just my 2¢.
How do you get better at negotiating?
Go to the Ford dealership in North Hollywood on a Saturday afternoon in 100 degree heat and tell the group of savages you're in the market for a new Bronco or Raptor - and that your existing lease is up September 1st.
That's it. That's the whole training program.
Don't haggle me on our AI training pricing. At least not today. 😉
Nuh uh
@JakehellerAI and I are looking to connect with real estate professionals, brokers, investors, developers, property managers, and asset managers that are actively using A.I. in their business and want to come on our podcast to divulge the secret sauce on how they are using A.I. to their benefit.
Come on, guys! Free marketing here for CRE professionals to tell your story, your niche, what you do, your market, etc. Who doesn't love that?
Yardi is the platform of choice for some of CRE’s biggest players, and they are joining us for a live webinar to discuss AI!
Join us for a live demo of Yardi Virtuoso May 20th at 11AM PST. Brian Sutherland (VP heading up the Yardi Virtuoso go to market) and Shivani Kumar (Applied AI lead, MIT MBA) will share strategic AI decisions top operators are making to stay ahead.
Here's what they showed us on the prep call last week:
1) An MCP connector that pipes your live Voyager data straight into Claude. Financials, rent rolls, work orders, AP aging, budget comparisons. All authenticated through YardiOne with property level security permissions
2) A 30-page owner packet generated in about five minutes. Custom reports that used to take six months to build. I watched it happen live. Interactive dashboards where you can change leasing rates and rent growth assumptions and watch your NOI update on the fly
3) Premium agents with 30-40 agents working together on tasks like month-end close and payables approvals. And here's the wild part: Yardi can go into your database BEFORE the sales call and tell you exactly how much revenue lift you'd get from rolling out a specific agent. We're talking "2.2% lift in top line revenue" type statements, backed by your actual data
4) An agent marketplace where third parties (Deloitte, Real Foundations, your own consulting network) can build and deploy custom agents in your Yardi database
5) They're also connecting Yardi Matrix research data into the same interface. So you're pulling live portfolio data AND market research in one conversation.
I promise you will not want to miss this one...
