Here is this wild take on the Man City scandal:
Man City owners put their own money in the club.
Man Utd owners use the club's money to pay their own debt and refuse to put their own money.
If you really deep it, only 1 club is doing what every fan wants.
The rules are wrong.
@AliceTalksFooty Kick the "cheats".
Don't be silly. The PL commission violated so many fundamental principles of natural justice and contract law.
You'll see it in due course. If the PL must take down City, at least do it legally, and not through a sham commission.
@JimmyMu35984013 The investigation was into contracts - sponsorship deals. There are two sides to a contract. You must know a lawyer you can take this to.
@BigBearKentlaar This is the problem. A lot of you commenting with zero research or knowledge of contract law. Just out of emotions and a desire to witch hunt City.
You can't legally declare a contract a sham while ignoring the intent and evidence of the entity that signed it.
Dear @slbsn , this is one of the reasons why I said that the PL commission made a hash of contract law. They ignored the basic principles of natural justice. This is FAR from over.
🚨MAN CITY UPDATE - ETIHAD THREATENS PREMIER LEAGUE WITH LEGAL ACTION
😡Airline and City's major sponsor 'categorically rejects' PL panel finding it was involved in 'sham' deals
⚠️Explosive statement claims that PL has 'created damaging implications for Etihad' & warns it must now 'take responsibility for the consequences'
🗣️Also says 'at no time' was it consulted & will now seek legal counsel

The biggest sham is that an owner putting his own money into his club to win titles is a crime, while other owners are allowed to load debt onto their club unchallenged, hide behind offshore tax havens and rinse their clubs dry without giving a fuck about the football.
This is extraordinary.
The Commission says #ManCity’s sponsorship arrangements were “shams” and that £830.69M of supposed commercial revenue was really owner funding.
Yet Etihad — City’s principal sponsor and the company directly implicated by those findings — says the Premier League NEVER contacted it, NEVER allowed it to provide evidence and NEVER gave it a right of reply.
Then there’s this: the Commission also says there was no direct evidence that a key redacted individual knew about or authorised the alleged scheme, yet concluded it operated without that person’s knowledge (hugely rumored to be HRH Sheikh Mansour).
So we are being asked to accept a vast, multi-year funding scheme involving hundreds of millions of pounds — while one of the main commercial parties says it was never even heard, and a key individual supposedly did not know it was happening.
That is extraordinary.
City say the central allegation is simply wrong. Etihad now “categorically rejects” the implications against it and is taking legal advice.
This is nowhere near over.
PUBLIC STATEMENT
Today, through my legal team, I filed a fundamental rights suit against the Nigerian Army, the Chief of Army Staff, and the Attorney-General of the Federation over the violation of my fundamental rights.
On 28 April 2026, I was taken into custody by members of the Nigerian Army. During my detention, I was subjected to severe and degrading treatment. I was handcuffed and blindfolded, kept under the sun during the day and in extremely cold conditions at night. I was also denied adequate access to water and basic necessities.
At the time, I did not know what would happen to me. I cried out for help and held on to my faith in God. I remain grateful to God for preserving my life through that experience.
I was subsequently transferred to the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), where I spent approximately 21 days in detention.
Although the court granted me bail, several months have now passed, and the violation of my fundamental rights has still not received the attention and remedy that the law provides.
On 28 September 2026, I was again in court as the criminal proceedings continued. However, I believe it is important that the violation of my fundamental rights is also properly addressed through the appropriate legal process.
This fundamental rights action is not an attempt to interfere with the ongoing criminal proceedings. It is a lawful step taken through my legal team to seek judicial determination of the circumstances surrounding my detention and the violation of my constitutional rights.
I have chosen to pursue this matter through the courts because I believe that every citizen, regardless of their views, position, or circumstances, is entitled to the protection of the law and to have their fundamental rights respected.
I am making this statement to formally notify the general public that this legal action has been commenced.
I will continue to allow the courts to determine the issues before them and will refrain from making statements that could prejudice the proceedings.
I am seeking justice, accountability, and respect for the rule of law.
Justice Can Never Crack.
Manchester City's principal sponsor say they are considering taking legal action against the Premier League.
Etihad Airways is the Abu Dhabi state airline which has sponsored City since 2009.
This man is a hero.
Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian captain of flydubai Flight 1073, fought back after being stabbed in the cockpit.
Despite being severely injured, he managed to unlock the cockpit door - allowing Israeli passengers and the Emirati crew to intervene and save all the passengers.
Together, their extraordinary courage saved 174 lives.
Indian. Israeli. Emirati.
Different nationalities. One extraordinary act of courage. 🇮🇳🇮🇱🇦🇪
We wish Captain Machchhar a full and speedy recovery.
Let’s be real for one second:
Man City are possibly the best-run football club in the world. They are the pinnacle of football excellence, along with PSG/Barcelona/Madrid/Liverpool/Arsenal.
I don’t think it’s in the interests of the Premier League to destroy them. Punish yes, but they are an asset to the very frontier of what modern football is. Their data science excellence, their academy excellence, their football philosophy…it doesn’t make sense to dismantle all of that.
Yes, they built it by cheating. But they definitely pushed the football standards in this country to a new level and made the Premier League stronger than ever. There has to be a sweet spot where they punish the club but don’t destroy them.
@MattHughesMedia They're deluded.
PL rivals means Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United.
Only 3 of 19. This is a witch hunt, not an act of justice.
Shame on the @premierleague
Our model of campaign is different.
While political campaigns often focus on purely politics, our focus is on development, human capital, education, agriculture, healthcare, jobs, security and building a productive economy.
We are working towards a Nigeria where every citizen can proudly say, “I am Nigerian.”
A Nigeria that works.
A Nigeria that produces.
A Nigeria that creates opportunities.
A Nigeria that restores hope.
If we want a good tomorrow, we must educate our children today.
Nigeria MUST be OK.
A Muslim pilot stabbed a copilot in an attempt to crash a plane flying over 80 Israelis from Dubai to Israel.
This is another Islamic terrorism. Islam is the biggest threat to world peace in the 21st century.
3 Reasons why Etihad Airways LEGAL ACTION could be seriously damaging for the PL: 🚨🀄️
1️⃣ Prosecutor becomes defendant
The league could find itself defending its own conduct in court.
2️⃣ Questions over due process
A legal challenge could put the PL’s handling of evidence and its disciplinary process under intense scrutiny.
3️⃣ Commercial reputation at risk
Etihad is a major global company. Any dispute over how the airline was portrayed in the findings could have wider commercial and reputational consequences.
If Etihad can establish that the Premier League made inaccurate or misleading implications about the airline without giving it a proper opportunity to respond, The PL could face legal, financial and reputational exposure.
