Worry often gives a small thing a big shadow.
--Swedish proverb
I like this reminder not to exaggerate problems, distorting reality...
Getting a little better at thanking God for all things - it's kind of an amazing paradox. And no annoying shadow!
You have to be 16 to drive.
You have to be 18 to vote.
You have to be 21 to drink.
You have to be 25 to rent a car.
Why are teachers talking to our kids about sexuality at 12?
Why are kids encouraged to mutilate their bodies at 13?
This gender ideology madness needs to end.
There are no people more blessed than those who have established a connection with the heavenly radio station and are connected with God by the wire of reverence. And there are no people more unhappy than those who have broken their connection with God and anxiously circle the world and turn the receiver handles, trying to catch the radio stations of the world, to at least briefly forget the great anxiety of their out-the-rut life.
St. Paisius of Mount Athos
Holy.
@SJSU knowingly recruited a man to give them a competitive edge. The coach lied & hid it from the team.
He went as far as to say anyone who disagrees with his allowance to play "needs to get therapy & leave SJSU."

“Be kind to one another, for all are fighting a hard battle.”
A gift from the St. Herman Monastery in Platina. I noticed it on the wall in their kitchen and mentioned to one of the monks how much I liked that quote. A couple hours later he handed it me.
The greatest sin today is the lack of love.

He was born in Bessarabia (now Moldova) to a peasant family.
As a monk he became deeply involved in the “Burning Bush” hesychast movement (focused on the Jesus Prayer and spiritual renewal) in Bucharest.
Under communism, he was imprisoned for about 6 years (1958–1964) due to his faith and activities -but emerged without bitterness, emphasizing prayer, humility, and love.
He became known as a wise elder and “Apostle/Spiritual Father of Bucharest."
He reposed in 2002 and was canonized by the Romanian Orthodox Church in 2024.
One of my new heros!
No matter how just your words may be, when you speak with anger, you ruin all...
--St. John Chrysostom
Well, that about sums it up! Resonates for sure.
May I (we) grow in maturity such that we are no longer triggered by outside forces and truly become the person we are meant to be.
Saint Olga of Alaska (Matushka Olga of Kwethluk)
A shining light from the Alaskan wilderness, the first Native American woman and first Yup’ik saint of North America.
Born Arrsamquq on February 3, 1916, in the remote village of Kwethluk, Alaska, Olga Michael grew up in the Orthodox faith planted by Russian missionaries. She married Nicolai Michael, who later became a priest, making her “Matushka” (little mother) not only to their eight children but to the entire village.
A skilled midwife, seamstress, and healer, her hands were never idle, baking prosphora for the church, sewing warm clothing for neighbors, and caring for the sick and suffering. She had a special ministry to women who had endured trauma and abuse, offering them compassionate listening, prayer, and healing in the traditional Yup’ik steambath (maqivik). Her icon often shows her carrying a basin of water, a symbol of both midwifery and spiritual cleansing.
She reposed in the Lord on November 8, 1979, and was gloriously canonized as Saint Olga of Kwethluk, Wonderworker and Matushka of All Alaska, in June 2025 by the Orthodox Church in America. Her feast day is celebrated on October 27.
Saint Olga reminds us that true holiness often shines brightest in quiet, everyday acts of love, service, and mercy right where God has placed us.
Holy Matushka Olga, pray to God for us! 🙏☦️

🚨Defending Title IX:
Fifty-three years after Title IX became law, women across America are still fighting for the basic promise of fairness, safety, and equal opportunity.
Title IX was created to PROTECT women and girls. Not erase them.
From school boards to the Department of Education, parents and female athletes are making their voices heard loud and clear:
Girls deserve fair competition.
Girls deserve privacy.
Girls deserve equal opportunity.
And parents deserve a seat at the table.
The fight for truth and fairness is far from over, but the momentum is shifting. 🇺🇸

The monster openly justified it: he was simply following the example of Muhammad, the “perfect role model” for all Muslims.
This is not ancient history. This is what Islamic teachings on child marriage still produce today. Yet Europe continues to import millions who revere this as divine truth.
