@INDOT On Monday I drove through the worksite on I-65 next to the new Lilly plant. Workers were present but the none of the "when flashing" signs were flashing. Y'all need to up your game. Every worksite in Ohio seems to have a digital variable speed limit sign.
@TPCarney I wonder if the "liberalism" in this article is really the ability granted to individuals to pursue their own ends (so-called hyper-individualism) via changes in technology, medicine, and the incredible post-war boom.
@TPCarney All this talk about liberalism clouds the intellectual waters more than it clarifies. Liberalism is a Christian construct (virtue?) in that it really can't exist apart from a Christian conception of the world. Take away Christian virtue and "liberalism" dissolves quickly.
Am I out of touch with the masses? The mood of the electorate? The party? Are we in a moment where the vulgar and unwashed strain of American politics is having its moment?
Sure yeah maybe.
I don’t feel obliged to condone it.
I am unabashedly on the side of capital, human and otherwise. I am unapologetically on the side of moral rigorism, of the highbrow. Elitism is a good thing. Our current social crisis is due to a failure of elites to do their jobs as elites.
@ekmcguir@JonahDispatch@EggerDC Because it's a dem lite outfit that pretends it's not??? And Longwell has nothing nice to say about The Dispatch and it's crew.
