@Nick38443159@MsSuh104 Very true, there has always been some political divide in the country. There have been elections which have literally torn the country in 2 like the election of 1860. Although most of these elections have not been in recent memory, its still notable. #suhaplang#aplangdiscussion
@MsSuh104 3) his plan's to shun political discourse that demonizes political beliefs and although it sounds like a good idea on paper, I don't think it's practical since there'll always be people like that and most normal people will shun that discourse anyway #suhaplang#aplangdiscussion
@MsSuh104 2) maybe not, it's just that some presidential elections are more controversial than others and this year's election has been the most controversial in a while, but there have been controversial elections in the past as well most not in recent memory #suhaplang#aplangdiscussion
@MsSuh104 1) the politics became somewhat more aggressive during the election but died down for the most part by 2 months after the election but every now and then, the problem gets brought up again with a new event in the news. #suhaplang#aplangdiscussion
@usmc12202 @MsSuh104 I find it strange that everyone seems to forget that Immigrants aren't the only people who break laws, citizens do too. Look in jail, there's plenty of citizens there #suhaplang#aplangdiscussion
@Nick38443159@MsSuh104 1) I found this interesting too since you'd think ice which is a well funded branch of the government would have a little more say in it and yet dont #suhaplang#aplangdiscussion
@MsSuh104 I'd make it so that if they are criminals in mexico or here that they get deported for their country to deal with but if they're just normal people than I'd let them stay since they're not doing anything wrong. this country was built on immigration. #suhaplang#aplangdiscussion
@MsSuh104 another benefit (other than the aforementioned one in my last question) is that it makes sure that immigrants who were witnesses to violent crimes can report them. one supposed drawback is that it doesn't deport immigrants who came here illegally #suhaplang#aplangdiscussion
@MsSuh104 The most interesting thing that I personally took away from the video is that Sanctuary cities actually help local law enforcement since they make sure that undocumented immigrants aren't so afraid of the police that they won't call them in emergency #suhaplang#aplangdiscussion
@ObamaLover44 Agreed, but even if people and leaders condemn acts like these, they will still happen and there isn't really anything anyone can do about it. #suhaplang#aplangdiscussion
@MsSuh104 4) considering that no generation before us was able to put their differences aside like that, I'm a bit skeptical. But it is a possibility. #suhaplang#aplangdiscussion
@MsSuh104 3) I don't necessarily believe that people get the government that they deserve since corruption and other such things ensure that some people get into office/bills get passed and others dont no matter how hard people fight against it #suhaplang#aplangdiscussion
@MsSuh104 2) I dont believe my community's safe since in this day and age, hate crimes can occur anywhere; look at Charlottesville they're barely bigger than Binghamton and look at the terrible thing which happened to them and tarnished their city's reputation #suhaplang#aplangdiscussion
@MsSuh104 1) I agree with what he says about how it's a sign of hatred and yet this hatred does not define us as a country. Just because there's a few bad apples in the bundle doesn't mean that everyone in this country's bad just like he said in the article. #suhaplang#APLangDiscussion
