Wrong. The $10aDay child care plan was never designed to be a targeted program just for struggling parents. It is meant to be a universal program that all families can access in their community, just like Kindergarten.
STATEMENT FROM BC NDP LEADER DAVID EBY:
"Securing a deal with the Prime Minister, BC and Ottawa will work together to reach a newly negotiated childcare funding agreement with a December 1st deadline. My family has benefited from a wonderful local childcare centre and I will keep fighting so that every family benefits from quality childcare across our province.
A couple of years ago, the childcare centre that one of our children was attending was designated as a $10/day site. When that occurred, we chose as a family to make a donation to that excellent facility. We felt that we did not need that discount and we wanted to make sure that the childcare centre could provide other supports for families in the community.
We will be making a similar donation to the childcare centre for our youngest child who attends the same facility."
BC Conservative Leader Lorne Doerkson announced his ‘plan’ to blow a $3 billion hole in the budget.
This confirms that health care and education would take the brunt of funding cuts.
$3 billion out of the provincial budget represents 8,000 doctors. Imagine what our health care system would suddenly look like without 8,000 doctors.
Can we afford to lose 8,000 doctors?

This is actually a $2.5 billion tax cut, mostly benefiting millionaires, with no clear plan to pay for it. Lorne can’t have it both ways.
When the money doesn’t add up, health care and other services are on the chopping block.
Firstly, it's not hate or transphobic to oppose the "progress pride" flag, unless you want to say I, a transsexual, is somehow transphobic.
Secondly, @katy_merrifield is a dear friend and I support her strongly.
The @BCGreens have run an impressive campaign so far, and 100% the @bcndp are stealing their language as they lean into the class warfare frame. Plus, I think the NDP are quite worried about the Green vote on the South Island especially.
NEW - @LDoerkson promises to scrap PST on capital equipment for businesses like machinery, appoint a new Minister for Red Tape Reduction (this has existed before) to cut red tape back to 2017 levels with law that eliminates 2 regulations for every new one introduced.
NEW - The NDP is calling Lorne Doerksen's letter to BC's legal groups and the Insurance Bureau of Canada leaked” and “secret.” The letter was an open letter shared among the province's roughly 14,000 lawyers. In 2017, Adrian Dix sent a similar letter to trial lawyers. #bcpoli
