One fine morning, the Hindus of Rawalpindi-Islamabad just got bored of their ancient mandirs, packed up their murals and left for fun, right?

English, that sneaky colonial language, hides truth beautifully.

It blurs who did what:

- 'The door opened' → (Hindi : khulnā)
: on its own

- 'Someone opened the door' → (Hindi : kholnā) : forced .

But magic happens in the passive voice :
- 'The door was opened (by someone?) ' → Passive magic! The real culprit vanishes. Who did the action is optional to mention in the passive voice.

Same trick with 'abandoned temples'.

It can mean that the mandirs just magically emptied themselves. No need to mention of the bloodthirsty mobs, the ethnic cleansing, the genocide that drove millions of Hindus out at gunpoint, swordpoint, and worse.

The passive voice of the English language whitewashes the perpetrator. It erases the Jihadi violence that turned thriving Hindu/Sikh heartlands into ghost towns.

This isn't innocent grammar ; it's deliberate narrative laundering to protect the guilty and guilt-trip the victims.

Hindus didn't 'abandon' anything.

Our temples were made to be ABANDONED BY FORCE. Our ancestors were EXPELLED. Our dharma was ETHNICALLY CLEANSED from most of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Call it what it is: Hindu genocide of 1947.

Stop sugarcoating barbarism with polite passive voice of a language that can’t structurally distinguish between actions and automatic change of states.

Let is look at some facts

Kerala was Vedic well before the Common Era, and there are numerous references in Sangam literature that attest to this.

The place Taliparamba, known in ancient times as Sellur, is praised in Akananuru (verse 220) as the land “where the sacrificial fire never dies” — “கெடாஅத் தீயின் உருகெழு செல்லூர்”.

Similarly, Pathitrupathu records that King Perunjeral Irumporai performed yajnas strictly in accordance with Vedic injunctions:

“கேள்வி கேட்டுப் படிவ மொடியாது
வேள்வி வேட்டனை”

— indicating that the sacrifices were conducted after properly learning and adhering to scriptural norms.

Another Chera ruler, Palyaani Selkezhu Kuttuvan, is praised in Pathitrupathu for performing the Ashvamedha yajna, a royal Vedic ritual of sovereignty:

“பார்வல் கொக்கின் பரிவேட்பு அஞ்சா
சீருடைத் தேஎத்த முனைகெட விலங்கிய”

Such references are not isolated. They reflect a well-established Vedic presence in ancient Kerala during the Sangam age.

One more important fact is : being a “liberal Malabari” does not automatically make one historically informed.
