From Pittsburgh to Oakland, we're facing a nationwide crisis that's impacting renters, homeowners, and small landlords. Politicians know what they can do to help. It's time for them to take the necessary action -- pronto. https://t.co/1kBs9K8iRY
A number of people need to know if they can break a lease because they are no longer employed due to covid . I can't get any answers. #yyccc#ableg#rentersrights
This is not on. This is not how it’s supposed to work. This is not the sort of nation we think ourselves to be. Surely intervention against this type of cruelty is the remit of someone.
If we can scramble to house folks in a cold snap, or in a pandemic, why can’t we at all other times?
Housing is a human right. Going forward, let's act like it.

@JanisIrwin B.C just announced that everyone on income support will be getting an extra 300$ a month. Is there any chance of this for Alberta with people on AISH like myself? Or income support? Like maybe a small chance, a tiny chance, an itsy, bitsy one?
@macleans@inklessPW You may not be aware, but protocols as prescribed by @CMOH_Alberta are not being followed & you cannot discriminate based on income in Alberta.
canadian disaster capitalism playbook:
✅ fire tens of thousands of public sector workers
✅ spend billions on pipelines
✅ waive rent for airline companies but not people
