At #TropMed24@ASTMH, global health leaders gathered to tackle critical issues like #malaria in #pregnancy. @RBMMIPWG, @MedsforMalaria and the @UnivofGh hosted a workshop to explore strategies for strengthening collaboration between malaria & maternal health programs.
With 12.7M pregnant women infected & 100K+ newborns lost to malaria in pregnancy in 2022, there’s a pressing need for gender-sensitive approaches and stronger synergy between programs.

More women received life saving medicine (SP) to prevent malaria in pregnancy! Per the recent WHO World Malaria Report, 42% received the recommended 3 SP doses in 2022, a 7% increase from 2021. Let's continue to prioritize increased access to SP to protect mothers & babies! @WHO
