Please read. @GordonBrown makes such a compassionate case affirming the importance of palliative care. Rather than advancing a Bill on assisted dying, 70.2% of the public believe a Commission on Palliative and End of Life Care must come first. https://t.co/ewHmKCnsn8

Living with #Alzheimers or another #dementia does not mean it’s necessary to stop participating in meaningful activities such as #travel. However, it does require planning to ensure safety, comfort and enjoyment for everyone. MT @rushalzheimers
Anxiety is a learning disability, "survival mode," but isn't recognised as one. It inhibits your ability to learn, causing the cortex to narrow, dysregulting the nervous system with cognitive functioning challenges, attention difficulties, planning, and memory struggles.🧠🌱
Please re-Tweet to raise awareness: There is no ‘typical’ older person. Communities and countries need adaptable policies.

Silos can have a positive side. They allow for deep expertise in specific areas & foster identity, trust & belonging which can boost performance. They can also have a deeply negative side. They can create isolation that leads to duplicated efforts, conflict, hoarding of resources & quashing of innovation.
As leaders, we cannot be silos. Our role is to enable the collaboration & connections that mean our teams can play to their specialist strengths but operate as part of the bigger collective whole.
@JillGeisler suggests 8 actions for leaders:
1) Make collaboration a priority
2) Remove systemic obstacles to cooperation - often it’s the systems we’ve built that force people to protect their time & resources
3) Check our communication - do we make it easy for people to know what other teams are up to?
4) Level the playing field - emphasise the importance of all roles, as well as the value of reciprocity
5) Create something that requires cross-group participation - needing the input of many to make it a success.
6) Celebrate & reward teamwork
7) Emphasise trust & transparency
8) Role model the values & behaviours we want from our teams & from other leaders:
