Join RCSD in this contest from @PolyupInc, a computational thinking playground. Our division team code is "rcsd". We're aim to earn 1000π+ Polycoins this week! #RCSDconnect#rcsdtech#rcsdtinker
We are excited to share our NEW global #PolyChallenge has begun! For the #youcubedprize this week 10 lucky participants will win access to our Mathematical Mindsets online course for teachers! 🌟 Find out more & start winning prizes here 👉🏼 https://t.co/UCY7C4S0dA @PolyupInc
Great time with @mrsroundell class today. Wrapped up our structures unit by building a house for the 4th little pig! It had to withstand the Big Bad Wolf test (a blow dryer). Then improvements. Tomorrow will be the final test....@DeshayeCatholic@RCSD_No81@RCSDmathscience
Today we completed our first challenge. Build a structure of a specific height and then alter it to increase strength and stability. Loved the excitement in the room! Can’t wait for our next chance to build. @DeshayeCatholic@RCSDmathscience#STEAM#explore
Exploring STEM bins today. Such engagement for our structures and materials science unit! Can’t wait to see what these guys create. Today was free explore but we have some challenges planned for the near future!!!! @DeshayeCatholic@RCSD_No81#STEM@webbkyle
@kjehman We’re on pins and needles waiting for the announcement! Any way it goes, thank you to @FollettLearning, and our team of @SherryChase11@GennaRdz@webbkyle@JillLaursen @gordberg21, and every one of our Teacher Librarians! Our Tinker Tubs are amazing!!
We learned about the forces that act on flying objects: drag, lift, gravity and thrust. Today, I challenged the students to create something that can fly using only a specific amount of objects. They need to work as a group, plan, test, modify and retest! @RCSDmathscience
According to the European Research Council, the photo of a black hole "took one year, eight telescopes and a global network of scientists to produce". That doesn't sound too difficult. One year? Pff.
Math making sense! Project based learning happening at St.Peter with the grade 8’s! Design your own aquatic center, calculate the surface area, volume and then build it! @BillWeir08@msannalucero@RCSDmathscience @Jessi_McCulloch @RCSD_No81#RCSDConnect
Today students practiced their area & perimeter in math centers! Bravo to my fabulous @URFacofEd pre-intern for all her hard work preparing this lesson! @RCSD_No81@webbkyle @StDominicYQR
We had a great time learning new things from our older peers this afternoon at the @StAugustineRCSD science fair! Kids teaching kids is super cool to witness! @RCSDmathscience@RCSD_No81
Now that's a Venn diagram. #mathchat#saskedchat@RCSDmathscience
Could be interesting to see what kinds of 3+ category Venn diagrams students could come up with.
