And, ObservableObject is declared in Combine instead of SwiftUI... so we can get this for free outside SwiftUI if needed.

#swiftui beta change heads up, BindableObject’s publisher now needs to emit BEFORE changing the bindable object’s state. Publisher now named willChange. This means using willSet instead of didSet or calling .send() in a method right before changing a property’s value. #iosdev

And just like that, BindableObject is now ObservableObject AND the publisher is auto synthesized! By just declaring conformance to ObservableObject, the publisher will automatically emit before any @ Published annotated properties change. YES! #swiftui

@jckarter @Dimillian FB6500914, the issue is reproducible; a playground is attached to the FB ticket. onDisappear & onAppear(2nd) only gets called when presenting a second modal containing a different view type. All this is modeled in the playground.

Handy #swiftui tip, if you’re hesitant to use .onAppear, don’t worry. SwiftUI won’t call onAppear every time your view struct is re-created on state change. onAppear is a great place to start side effect loading I/O. SwiftUI must be correlating old-new views. #iosdev
