JUST IN: Mortgage applications are now down 50% since the start of 2023 and at their lowest since 1994.

Mortgage demand is now ~25% below the levels seen at the 2008 lows, according to Reventure Consulting.

This comes as mortgage rate have crossed above 8% and home supply remains at historic lows.

Existing home sales are at their lowest since 2010 with 90% of borrowers locked-in to significantly lower rates.

The housing affordability broke below the 2008 bottom and is now at an all time low.

There has never been a worse time to be a homebuyer.

Just received a letter from the bank, dear Mrs. @Lagarde .
Mortgage loan increased of 23€ per month. That’s 276€/year.
For absolutely nothing.
On top of all the inflation we have to deal with.
Everyone, literally everyone would understand that this is a joke.
It’s NOT working.
