In 2006-2016… spending time in California was an undeniable advantage in being a content creator.

Moving there was a goal for young and up and coming creators.

In 2026 the reality is that it is no longer worth it for many.

OG Creators are leaving…

Collaboration is no longer what it once was. Vidcon has left for the East Coast.

Vidsummit has been part of the South for years now.

And while the Creator Economy and Hollywood have gotten awful cozy…

Production has been looking outside of LA for incentives and talent.

Being in LA/California isn’t particularly meaningful to being a successful creator and it’s not the brand perk it used to be.

There is a strong LA Creator scene, but it’s not the monopoly it once was.
