@urgoingnthesoup Tried to do a dressing change last night and was choking on the smell of a vape. Rolled that home girl and there were three of them underneath her wrapped in a washcloth.
@urgoingnthesoup I thought we were just glorified room service? At least that’s sure as heck what my patients think I am. I get yelled at because dinner isnt good, dont fold the blankets correctly, and don’t respond in a timely manner to rub lotion on their back before bed.
It’s not just COVID. I had a patient grab ahold of my arms, refuse to let go and try to shove me into a wall. He later tried to kick me in the face while giving him his medication. I’m at a hospital not even an hour from Branson.
I live near Branson, MO. The hospital there has issued panic buttons for all medical staff due to violence caused by patients and family when they’re told they have covid.
@AbbyDrish I was literally just thinking about Studio16 the other night and how wild it was that we literally had coolers filled with monsters and sugar filled drinks that teenagers could buy while other kids were out throwing rubber balls at peoples heads as hard as possible. Wild.
Some of y’all clearly didn’t grow up in Victorian home that DID have original floors that creaked and cracked with every step, split and gave you splinters, and stained and scratched like nobody’s business. They are NOT easy to fix or replace.
@ashleyrehmel@Sam2kmp2 Something like that! I’m so glad she still tells that story. There truly are too many things to even begin to try to list. But the main thing that I learned from her was that everything in life causes the “Big C” - constipation.
2 years ago at this time my undiagnosed illnesses had gotten so bad that I was told I would never make it through nursing school, let alone as a full time student. I graduate with my BSN in 38 days and currently have a 4.0 GPA, and y’all, I am just so proud of myself :’)
