For those two I just hope they get what they’ve earned and what keeps them in Anaheim a long time. Although it’s not an open contract, Beckett needs to continue to develop next season, but I think he’s up for the challenge. As is always the case, it’s the supporting cast that I’m most concerned about. I think the GM made some moves that turned out to be incredibly timely and insightful, but as you know, it doesn’t always happen that way. He needs to stay on his hot streak with acquisitions and trades.

I grew up in a small market MLB town. The Angels are a big market team operating with a small market mentality and budget. I’m grateful Arte has kept the team in Anaheim, even though they totally fumbled the stadium redevelopment. (Ducks are crushing that idea). But it won’t change until Arte sells.
