@Rainmaker1973 Quite amazing! So many animals we look down on and butcher have so much more empathy, loyalty, and emotional intelligence that so many humans lack!
🚨(1)BREAKING: Christian community police officer wins settlement after being forced out of his role for questioning and criticising Islam during diversity training.
Luke Salmons, who has been supported by the Christian Legal Centre, was suspended for six months, forced to resign and put on a police barring list after he had questioned radical Islam in a training session.
He had been told that the session was a 'safe place' for discussion, but after expressing his beliefs, the consequences were devastating.
After taking legal action, his case has now been settled on confidential terms, however his story raises serious concerns about free speech and religious freedom in UK policing.

This is deeply troubling. I hope my union - @fbunational - will explain to fire service bosses that firefighters must be free to express their political views without fear of sanction by their employer. @manchesterfire has seriously overstepped the mark here.
Ndotto is here again.
Almost every morning of late, our ex-orphan bull has padded up the path at dawn before our dependent orphans are even out of bed. He stands by the trough, waits for the others, and joins in with their morning breakfast rituals.
He might be all grown up but, like a lot of kids, he still likes to raid the fridge whenever he can!
Drop a comment: what is your favourite story of an ex-orphan returning?
@Sofia50020Sofia Only missing No. 9!
Everything else I have done multiple times!
And, actually, I would love to go back to 1980 when I went to university..
Makerfield has made the rules about broadcast coverage of
elections and by-elections a complete farce, though nobody seems to agree what the rules are anyway. But giving Burnham big coverage then listing the other contenders is just absurd.
@MichaelLCrick I guess this is much less a by-election and more an intended and anticipated coronation.
But if Burnham were to lose, then Starmer could possibly make it to 2029.
Either way, Labour is toast in 2029 even if Reform doesn't win a majority outright.
Tonight, Channel 4 brings the 1966 World Cup Final back to life in colour.
But this isn’t just a match replay.
Many who lived that moment, players and fans alike, have been affected by dementia.
Throughout the broadcast, you can donate to help fund vital support for people living with dementia and their families.

@alzheimerssoc I must be the only person in England who walked out of the 1966 World Cup final because I was bored. I was only 4 years old. My parents and grandparents were absolutely glued to the black and white TV set in our living room. I didn't understand what all the fuss was about!😂👍
@RupertLowe10 JD Vance has a good chance of becoming the next US president. The Democrats still have no significant candidates that inspire American voters.
I guess the key battle for the Republican nomination will be between Marco Rubio and J D Vance. And they may combine to form the ticket.
This exchange is so revealing. Kenyon points out the obvious - that the more people that enter a country, the more houses that country will need. But upon hearing the argument that immigration puts pressure on the housing supply, the Green candidate immediately defaults to her "I'm shocked and horrified you could ever say such a thing!" mode. The funny thing is, she ends up agreeing with him, but even then she tries to pretend he has said something appalling. This is what happens when politics is rooted in feelings rather than facts.
@PaulEmbery Bang on, Paul!👍
The Greens would happily flood the country with migrants, crippling our infrastructure, housing, social services, NHS, and yet expect the British taxpayer to pay!🤮🤬
@LeftieStats@guardian It's a war just like Sudan or Myanmar and many other conflicts in Africa. Of course, the hypocritical, antisemitic LEFT doesn't bother protesting or marching for other conflicts because Jews aren't involved!🤮🤬
In Sudan, many more have been killed than in Gaza, around 150,000!
"I'm not going to go through... an exam on the fiscal rules."
Andy Burnham, Labour candidate in the Makerfield by-election, refuses two times to tell @vicderbyshire what the fiscal rules are, but confirms he'd stick to them if he became prime minister.

The Current Budget Rule: The primary mandate requires the government's day-to-day (current) spending to be met entirely by its revenues. A new definition treats this rule as satisfied if the current budget is within 0.5% of GDP rather than a zero surplus.
Tomboi catching up with Benjamin, who’s been by his side from tiny orphan to big bull.
We rescued Tomboi nearly 23 years ago, when he was just days old. He remained in our care for the better part of a decade before reclaiming his place in the wild. By this point, the years he’s lived wild far outnumber the time he spent with us, but he has never forgotten the people who raised him or the place he calls home. He still drops by Ithumba periodically to visit Benjamin and the team.
In the Samburu dialect, Tomboi means ‘boy without a father.’ It was a fitting name for the tiny orphan we rescued all those years ago. No matter how big he grows or how much time passes, Tomboi will always have his SWT family standing behind him. Watch to the end to see a photo of baby Tomboi; he’s in the red blanket, next to the infamous Wendi!

@NadineDorries The problem is those in Restore hate Farage and see him as a conman!
@RestoreBritain_ is a bit extreme for me, but I understand those in Restore who feel disenfranchised, and you only need to look at the hijacked Green Party, by Ismalists and the far-left, to understand why!
@NickyMacHiaveli@SamuelWeeps@AllisonPearson It was very much policing of its day, in the 1950s, 60s, and early 70s. I did watch and enjoy the programmes as a young kid in the late 60s with the little moral message at the end of each episode.
But it is a farcry from any kind of policing today.
Z-cars was much grittier!👍
