RGSHW boys also explored a slightly less known aspect of German culture. Spaghetti Ice Cream! Obviously, only after being told about the history of this delicious ice cream dish. Thank you Dario Fontanella! Forever grateful! https://t.co/dsYVUXZ5lb #RGSHW@rgshw#spaghettieis

I’m just going to leave this here.
Just in case we ever needed proof of how important a language it is in today’s economy, industry and society.
And yet some schools still want to remove German from the curriculum.
Looking forward to finding out who's won the Schlegel-Tieck Prize for German to English translation this Thursday @Soc_of_Authors. Congratulations to all those shortlisted for prizes!

Today’s the day! The first day of this year’s online Cambridge Undergraduate Conference in German Studies is about to begin! I’ll be taking you through what promises to be a great weekend of talks on the theme of interruption 🇩🇪
The Cambridge Undergraduate Conference in German Studies by @GermanCambridge is well-curated! Thanks to the speakers of the first session Amalia Hajiev (KCL) Delyan Yanev (Durham) Gwendoline Choi (StAndrews).
The themes of the talks are so pertinent. #learngerman#ALevelGerman

@MackenzieNeale@joedale I think this is a useful teaching intervention for KS3. When we empower students to take responsibility it will develop their grit. I don't have research but I think you can very easily show that it will make a difference in their learning.
@GI_London1 We are so impressed with Ben's (year 12) and Maxim's (year 11) speeches at the public speaking 'Speak Up German' events run by the Goethe-Institut! Thank you to Mrs Whittle (DCGS) and Mrs Javaid (RGS) for their help running the event. https://t.co/MNCjtwYjzX
@mockjock @rgshw I am so happy to see so many boys make Austrian dishes! Palatschinken were amongst my favourite food and are a real reminder of home. #inspirationweek
@SparkyJG@rgshw I was totally blown away what the boys came up with. I just taught myself to make German Brezels the weekend before. I am so impressed with the results of #inspirationweek
@GI_London1@WatfordBoys What a fantastic experience! Seeing youngsters speaking fluently and passionately on a really important topic. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience! Well done to the boys from @WatfordBoys and @rgshw. We are all very proud of you!
