Ruth Hooker School’s Butterfly Garden Ceremony was today. We dedicate this to the children who did not come home and the survivors of Residential Schools. Thank you Mrs. Marsch, Mrs. Dejonckheere and Ms. Bercier for leading us in word and song.
In honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, The Selkirk Friendship Centre and The City of Selkirk has partnered to host a commemorative ceremony, remembering the lost children and survivors of residential schools.

Throughout the day on September 29th RHS students will have the opportunity to learn about the importance of honouring Orange Shirt Day. Students and staff will have the opportunity to smudge together. Students will need parental permission to participate.
September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and all schools in LSSD will be closed.
This day will be a time to honour the children who never returned home, and Survivors of residential schools.
The province has declared Sept. 26-Sept. 30, 2022, as School Support Recognition Week in honour of the work done every day by school support staff for MB's students in K-12. Thanks to all our amazing support staff @LordSelkirk_SD! We value all that you do!
Rita is working with the Council as a Project Coordinator for Volunteer Engagement this summer. She had the opportunity to visit CNCM funded schools today to meet their wonderful staff and learn more about the amazing meal and snack programs they run!
