I am a labour party member, I have been since 2010. I have over the years done various canvassing/leafleting. I cannot tell you the army of activists that have supported this result. I have been on the outskirts of it, doing what I can around work and young children. However

@vicgoddard What I have never understood is if we simply never told schools (and therefore pupils and families) how individual pupils did, instead schools receiving class data, it would take all of the pressure off but still result in progress data for the school.

genuinely listen to where the other side is coming from. Even just for one tweet. Ask questions without an agenda and actively listen. I try to teach this to my nursery children every day! #RantOver

I am getting increasingly frustrated about the supposed dichotomy in approach to managing behaviour in schools when the reality is very clear to most teachers that it should be a mixture of both approaches. Routines and high expectations are always the foundation as without this

We also need to acknowledge that is incredibly difficult to get right and I take my hat off to all teachers and leaders. Like most arguing adults the people most impacted are the children. So if you have shouted from the sidelines can I make a bold ask. Challenge yourself to

@Cyberbloke @draevans I am neither agreeing or disagreeing with the post but the system cannot recruit or retain teachers. Suggesting that there are people waiting in the wings to take the place of current teachers is misguided.

@stoneman_claire Thanks Claire for this. I think a barrier to people not returning after is not being able to do school roles part time alongside other work. I used to work with a colleague who was in edu academia and the energy and knowledge he bought 2 days a week was fantastic.

@calucas16 @adamboxer1 I agree - but schools can send a very powerful message to parents saying that they are banning phones in schools and why. Taking time to explain the dangers and what families can do is a huge part of safeguarding them inside and outside of school imo.
