@RedDragon733 More kids are always born, though. But children bought up with phone screens, YouTube and social media are less inclined to invest in TV. Shows don’t make much sense if you have a second screen in your hand you are constantly being drawn back to.
@AMadmanNotABox@DW_MidJourney Much more honest than RTD ranting about people daring to use the word “cancelled”. We were told there would be a Christmas special, and now there isn’t. Hopefully the tender will be handled reasonably quickly.
@TharriesYT@doctormaster233 As much as I am disappointed with the news, it is just a TV show. The abuse is ridiculous, and hardly helpful in finding a new showrunner.
@PaulCli68311802 It speaks volumes that he gives the interview many would want to Gaydio. He lives in a bubble and can’t see that it is turning away average viewers. Same with the clip of him in the Tardis talking to a drag queen version of the First Doctor.
@WhovianLife There was more good than bad. I liked both the companions and Gatwa was decent when he wasn’t being camp. I liked UNIT being more involved.
@thedrwhopodcast They either lied about the Christmas special coming or are lying about it never really being worked on. I suspect it is the latter that isn’t quite true. And yes, RTD does seem a bit off.
@ScrapArtCafe@Fenrirtheicewo1 I have been a fan since the 1970s, I was invited to Jon Pertwee’s house for a long interview in the 1990s. I’m not a fake fan. The special has been cancelled and the show is being put out to tender. Two separate things.
@Gaydio@thedrwhopodcast He is so used to lying in order to protect surprises he thinks it is fine for anything. There clearly were intentions to produce a special. The press office wouldn’t release that for a laugh. After this mess, how are we supposed to trust what they are now saying?
@ProductionsJAW The new Tardis was tailor made for a bit of action. What was the point in the spiral ramp if the Daleks did not invade the console room at some point?
@WilliamWho27 So why was the show not put out to tender earlier. I assume it was because Bad Wolf were pretending to be making a Christmas special, so the process could not start until they admitted, or were told, they were not.
@CallMeGdubG@gothoperas Agreed to some degree. It just wasn’t engaging. Not even to many fans. When RTD returned it did feel vibrant and fun again, but the mysteries that fueled it did not go anywhere.
