The horrible disease that all of us in the film industry suffer from , is instead of honestly telling the story we truly like , we always tell what we think the audience will like 😳
Every second, every heartbeat, @ssrajamouli has pushed our stories, our emotion and our cinematic conviction onto the world stage. His name on the Mur des Cinéastes at Institut Lumière is not just an honour for one filmmaker.
It is a proud, permanent moment for Telugu and Indian cinema 🙏🙏🙏
#Eega #RRR #Baahubali #Varanasi
Visited the Lumière Museum and the screening room where Eega and RRR was screened to a full house in Lyon, France.
Thierry Frémaux, the director of the Institut Lumière and the Cannes Film Festival, was gracious enough to introduce me. Then he said he had planned a surprise and walked me through the very street where cinema was born. I was already emotional for everything that was happening around me.
And there is this wall full of plaques. Names of legends like Martin Scorsese, Clint Eastwood, Quentin Tarantino, Francis Ford Coppola… and then I noticed a plate covered with a red cloth. My mind went blank.
I don’t even know what to say for the honour of having my name permanently placed on the Mur des Cinéastes, along with the greats.
Only gratitude. Deeply, deeply humbled. 🙏
Thank you @InstitutLumiere for a memory I will carry for a lifetime.

Age: 94.
Thinking: Decades ahead of its time.
Generations might change from Millennials to Gen Alpha & Beta, but Singeetham Srinivasa Rao Gaaru remains the ultimate 'New Age Director' of Indian Cinema.
Eagerly waiting for #SingGeetham releasing on June 11th.
WHY SYNDICATE and not SARKAR?
SYNDICATE is based on a premise “ What if the entire law and order of INDIA collapses in just one single day”
It will be almost like a HORROR film , not because of any super natural elements , but because it will bare open the horrors that exist in some human minds which they can enact TERRIFYINGLY
SYNDICATE is about the rise of a organization so powerful , so integrated, and so maniacally driven that it threatens the very existence of INDIA
I believe that SYNDICATE is something which will match up to the post #Dhrandhar2 era and that is the reason for my decision.
Here’s my take on why I want to wipe out my entire past and be a new born or a reborn director post watching #Dhurandhar2 …
I wanted to be a auto rickshaw driver when I was around 10 , because I was fascinated with the vrooom vroom sound when the accelerator revs up..And then around 15 , I wanted to live in a forest inspired by a cousin of mine , and then a few years later , I wanted to be a engineer and then once again I changed my mind to become a director
Likewise I was heavily into Enid blyton’s books which I abandoned , when I discovered James Hadley chase , who I thought was the greatest writer ever
And then after a few years I discovered Fredrick Forsyth who awed me beyond my imagination
In effect we all keep getting re shaped from time to time because of newer and newer experiences which keep on elevating our bench marks as they should.
My bench mark films were The sound of music(Rangeela) , Exorcist(Raat, Bhoot) , Godfather(Satya,Company,Sarkar) .. in my entire career I was making films derived from those bench marks and mainly from Godfather
But now after seeing #Dhurandhar2 all my earlier films look like nothing .. if Godfather was my earlier benchmark in this genre , I now felt #Dhurandhar2 is like Godfather’s GODFATHER in the way , it redefined and reinvented everything , whether it’s craft , story telling style , character design , background music , laying out emotional landscapes, artistes performances , action choreography etc etc etc
So it’s common sense that I need to abandon the lessons learnt from the old schools of Coppola and join the new school of @AdityaDharFilms and that’s the only way one can stay updated.
It will be a suicidal blunder on the part of any film maker/writer/star, not to shed their egos and do an intensive academic research study of #Dhurandhar2 and then take a deep re look and then re work on whatever they believed so far, and drastically adapt.
By not doing so , and if you all will still stick to the same old cinematic beliefs, which were brutally killed on March 19 th 2026 , YOU TOO WILL DIE
"Every child that sees the film knows that Floyd goes to the moon. You say, 'well, how do you know?' and they say, 'well, we saw the moon."

Kenya this past fortnight became the stage for one of the world’s greatest filmmakers, @ssrajamouli, the visionary Indian director, screenwriter, and storyteller whose works have captured the imagination of audiences across continents.
Rajamouli, with a career spanning over two decades, is renowned for weaving together powerful narratives, groundbreaking visuals, and deep cultural resonance. His team of 120 crew members chose Kenya after an extensive scouting tour across East Africa, settling on our nation as the primary filming destination where nearly 95% of the African scenes are being shot.
From the sweeping plains of the Masai Mara to the scenic Naivasha, the rugged Samburu, and the iconic Amboseli, Kenya’s landscapes are now etched into what is set to become the largest film production in Asia. Scheduled for release in over 120 countries, the movie is expected to reach more than a billion viewers worldwide.
This landmark decision to film in Kenya is more than a cinematic milestone, it is a powerful statement about our country’s beauty, hospitality, and place on the world stage. As the crew departs today for India to continue production, Kenya stands proud, ready to share its story with the world through the lens of SSMB29.
