Thenya presenting @WangariMaathai & the Interdisciplinary Land Use and Natural Resource Management (SLUSE) activities focusing on smallholders farmers in humid central highlands of Kenya after having heard more from our participants PhD work.

We were on a field visit to the Grow Biointensive Agricultural Center of Kenya yesterday to discuss biointensive agricultural techniques & knowledge with local experts. Great involvement from our participants! Always good to confront your ideas to the reality on the ground.

On today's agenda, we had great presentations from our participants talking about their PhD supporting smallholder agriculture in East Africa & Benjamin Abugri @FARAinfo joined us to discuss Knowledge Management for Sustainable Agricultural Development in Africa with us!

Finally, Maximilian Abouleish-Boes presents @sekemgroup activities and especially its concept of Economy of love. @sekemgroup received the Right Livelihood Award in 2003 for its success on ensuring profitability and respect for the environment in all its activities

This afternoon we had Dr Andersson & Dr Isgren from @LUCSUS_LU talking about Pesticide use and risk exposure in smallholder farming in Uganga with an interesting analysis on gender dimension regarding the use of pesticide & the use or not of protective equipment by the farmers
