A Year 7 student came up this nice way of finding the Lowest Common Multiple. They weren’t sure why it worked but just they found it seemed to work. When we talked it through they realised why it worked. Nice method to come up with within the lesson!

Forming equations with Y8. They were fine with shape ones where they could see x from the start. But worded ones were hard!

I tried to articulate the process as “identify an unknown > name it > tell its story”. How would you teach these?
