I understand everybody’s going crazy with this home gym equipment craze, it’s much easier than you can imagine.

It’s not flashy, but… https://t.co/y7Ln7hqWlR
Much of our upper body training is tied in with trunk/core/scapular demands. These are 6 variations we use for the push-up at various times of the year.
Gym closed?
Here’s some recommendations:
1) Challenge yourself with exercises like Bulgarian split squats, single leg RDLs or single leg squats.
2) Visualize your lifts & run through them slowly with a PVC pipe or broomstick.
Hang in there everyone ❤️
TRAINING TIP!
Speed/Power should be done almost daily! Don’t freak out about strength/aerobic system. They’re easier to improve but Speed/power take longer to improve and also don’t stick with us as long unless we train them! @PenfieldSC@NextLevelSCNY
Respectful plea to those athletes (mostly) or coaches still planning to organize (or encourage) group workouts/meets at off-site locations: Please don’t. Instead, avoid large-group interactions, continue effective germ-killing habits, & keep “social distancing’ when in public.
A part of social distancing could be heading outside to an empty filed or spacious park. A father/mother & their son/daughter playing catch, taking grounders, BP, playing family wiffle ball, having fun, taking walks, laughing. A small piece of how we lived in the 70’s and 80’s.
S&C 101 for athletes:
1. You’re not bodybuilders, you’re athletes!
2. Squatting will ALWAYS be greater than ladder drills!
3. Form and speed is more important than weight!
4. Serious athletes take fueling their bodies, hydration, and recovery VERY seriously!
Speak life to others today. Share a kind word with everyone you interact with. You never know how much their soul might need it.
“Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.”

Chatted w Jim Wendler last month re high school strength & conditioning.
He does 7 exercises. Yes, just 7 exercises. But they REALLY focus on being GREAT at them, not just OK!
We can NOT rush athletes through the basics. It's about the KIDS, NOT about getting more video views!
PSA:
If you ever tell a middle (or high school), student-athlete to “specialize” in one sport, and not to play multiple sports, you’re either ignorant, or selfish!
Today is the last day for early registration for @RMHSMUSTANGS EKG screening on 11/20. Go to https://t.co/0O1mbY15Gb to register...it could be a life saver! #MustangPride
"When you're in the day-to-day grind, it just seems like it's another step along the way. But I find joy in the actual process, the journey, the work. It's not the end. It's not the end event." - Cal Ripken Jr.
How are you grinding today?
