Delighted to have interacted with Japan’s State Minister for Environment, Mr. Kiyoto Tsuji, in Delhi today.

We discussed issues issues related to strengthening critical mineral supply chains through resource circulation, advancing e-waste recycling, and deepening India–Japan cooperation for a sustainable future.

I am happy to have virtually met with H.E. Mr Chris Bowen, Australia’s Minister for Climate Change and Energy, today.

Important aspects related to negotiations leading up to COP31 later this year were discussed.

During our interaction, I reiterated that under the leadership of PM Shri @narendramodi ji, India has always been a part of the solution to combat the climate change crisis. Mr Bowen appreciated India for our positive approach towards working together to achieve long-term solutions.

Reviewed the status of the implementation of Bhagirathi Eco-Sensitive Zone Notification with Chief Secretary Uttarakhand, Secretary @MoEFCC, and other senior officials.

Emphasised the need for implementing the provisions of the Notification in letter and spirit and for establishing a robust institutional mechanism for its effective monitoring, enforcement and compliance.

Also underscored the need to ensure due compliance with directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in this regard, particularly in view of the immense cultural, ecological and spiritual significance of the Bhagirathi River and its adjoining areas.
