feeling so grateful to receive such lovely feedback from one of my band 5s. nice to know I am making a difference after only 4 months in the job!! and as always, grateful to @MidwifeSarahB for believing in me and giving the opportunity to shine in this role 🌟 happy friday!
Ive been quiet on here as I prepare to be on the other side! Absolutely delighted to be handing the reigns over to @PreceptorRM Maisie. So excited to see how she develops the programme over the next 12 months. Here she is with our March 24 cohort 💗💙
I’m Maisie Milner, Preceptorship Lead Midwife for Mid Yorkshire Trust. I am so excited to be nurturing the new generation of midwives and can’t wait to see what they achieve!! Today we are celebrating nearing the end of their induction programme and prioritising wellbeing ❤️
So proud to be part of such an incredibly progressive team who are open to ideas, change and movement to improve staff and patient experience. Can’t imagine working anywhere else 💙
Great for @GillWaltonRCM to be in Parliament earlier to discuss with midwives from around the country how we retain more midwives in the NHS. Thanks go to Stroud MP @Siobhan_Baillie for chairing this meeting of the Maternity APPG, which will now send recommendations to ministers
⭐️⭐️ Calling all 3rd student nurses, if you are due to qualify in 2024, our next graduate recruitment event will be in March 2024, please apply online via NHS jobs before 3.3.24 and we could be supporting you as a graduate in the near future ⭐️⭐️
@fecklessfox1000@gvigary@doctor_oxford Essentially it is all about choice, as someone who is currently pregnant I would welcome this for the early stage of labour. It’s not replacing epidural or any other pain relief option that already exists, it’s just another alternative. 💗
@fecklessfox1000@gvigary@doctor_oxford I just had a very brief look, and the guidelines are actually recommending this for back pain in labour as opposed to for uterine contractions. So it would probably be recommended alongside other methods. There is a new 2020 supporting this.
@fecklessfox1000@gvigary@doctor_oxford It doesnt go into the spine, its sub cut just under the skin around the rhombus of Michaelis. This isnt offered where I currently work but was where i trained. Anecdotally it was effective at reducing backache in the latent phase of labour, i never saw it being offered in active.
Valuable insight from the newly qualified and IEMs in Leeds today. They want to be welcomed, supported, included and valued🤗🥰 Such obvious but important feedback so the future workforce feel they BELONG 🫶😍
Fantastic event today from the regional team. So proud or our Meg for sharing her experience of preceptorship and so inspiring to see the next generation of midwives as the embark on their careers. @NHSEnglandNorth @MidwifeSarahB @AMHenshaw2 @LittleMichala
Last night we attended the @NursingTimes workforce awards as the NEY international midwifery recruitment program was shortlisted for best international recruitment experience. We may not have won but thrilled to be recognised @JoyceYankyera@VBagshaw@drtraceyc@CMidOEngland
It was such an emotional moment to us all! @stayandthrive is not about the operational team, this is a testament to the ommunity of Action all across the region and nationally. More importantly, to the internationally educated staff across professiona for their commitment 💛☀️
The amazing @JoyceYankyera is currently in attendance with the King. She was invited due to her work on the OSCE bootcamp programme whilst seconded to NHS England with @DevonSkyrme We are so proud of Joyce and cant wait to hear all about her trip to the palace! 👑 @MidwifeSarahB
