@adamkail @onepeloton Thank you. So much noise starting with “do this” or “do this and fail” etc. it starts with a mindset change, and that’s where it ends. The diet and exercise paths don’t matter
@WR4NYGov@DrAndyGalpin@mackinprof@JeffNippard I’m moving on to my 4th year of fitness. Curious how my situation plays out. I never focused on strength or hypertrophy. I focused on all of thee above. Gains have been slow but steady in all areas. Now I am wondering what to do with myself haha.
I jumped back I here because of my daily reading. (Bible app “the entire Bible in a year”.). Funny how things are presented in my reading pertaining to recent convos and thought. This morning, Leviticus 11 (animals you may eat - interesting animals that chew the cud…. Makes sense learning the inferiority of the fat in mono-gastric animals). Followed with the New Testament Romans 14 (could be cherry picked because of Verse 2 “one person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables”. Of course this is followed with a warning not to quarrel over opinions and not to judge one another over the subject. Just fascinated by the “coincidence” of revelations after a conversation.
@Mangan150 They make really good arguments against stawmen though. I mean strawmen always make the most ignorant vapid comments and they do a great job putting them in Their place 😬
Thank you for that. I can share that reading versus and even studying them over the years (various Sunday schools/men’s groups etc) for me created a defensive response internally. I finally was lead (by my son actually) to commit to reading the Bible. I was surprised at how reading it for the first time, has created a completely different result. At first I went from a basic mindset of “wow how primitive they were”, and “I feel bad for Cain” etc. To an overall view of “wow, we really have not changed as humans”…. And “now I get it”. This is hard to explain in a text, but a feeling of my eyes being opened is the best way to surmise the experience.
I am now doing two plans, chronological, and starting over with a plan that merges Old Testament, followed by New testament, followed by a psalm or proverb.
Hello Shane! Not wanting to be snarky, my point is cherry-picking one verse (particularly one pre-fall/pre-sin) to make a point on how to live life (another point Paul was making) is a bit disingenuous. My very limited understanding is pre-sin the earth was something we would have difficulty comprehending. In the end, not engaging in sensational posts and responses is the best move (but I failed in that one haha) Side note $1,000,000 per year seems a bit much and for what? To gain eternal life?
Reading the Bible entirely for the first time I have come to understand that the entire bible is to be read and studied, also seems like the Old Testament was a ‘how we got here’ with, as is amazing, telling of the coming of Jesus. Not sure I would base my entire life on the basis of one verse (particularly before the fall). What do I do with Ezekiel 23:20? 🤣
Exactly. Biggest struggle is identifying which rabbit I want. Haha. But actually, my wife asked why I am so focused on fitness. My response was (moving toward 60). “I want to be the uncle etc who can show up and fill in on a marathon, or race up a mountain trail with my kids, climb a cliff face with the grandkids…I’ve seen all my life, all of the ‘old guys’ sitting on lawn chairs watching”. Age and death will find us all, but I’m not going to make it easy on them 🤣 or die trying (most likely 😆)
Tbh, rest days sneak in where work and travel interfere. I have had a hard time with rest days out of fear (of losing progress). Also, Sprint and agility days are usually quite intense and short. I have avoided injury by not focusing on 1 thing. I do know I am stunting progress on one aspect by doing too much at the same time.
@Mangan150@Alicoh1 I’m not too interested. But I do know that making an absolute based on our very broken and un-unified knowledge of physics seems a bit silly. I feel the same way about most things. Remember! The science is settled! 🤣
I find that interesting (not at all criticizing). As a prior Marine, I find the F bombs comforting in a strange way…. While not a fan of gratuitous cursing, his is usually sprinkled in with moments of shock, excitement, and outrage. I have heard him say he is working on it (took me effort to clean up my language)
