Wonderful interview featuring @medsoulbrother โ 1st gen Caribbean nurse and a "pillar and foundation" of@BNLC_RNAO (according to his colleague Lori Zozzolotto). AND... he has written one book and is working on two more! Learn more: https://t.co/tCM4DIote2
As a (non-nurse) wordsmith at RNAO, I constantly see fascinating studies in my inbox. E.g. can AI predict the need for mental health interventions? https://t.co/60QjalgUtP Thanks @RNAO_MHNIG for all your work supporting mental health nurses in ON and beyond. @RNAO
How many Ontarians must continue fleeing their homes or living without AC in punishing heat waves under orange skies to make our leaders keep their promises to fight the climate crisis?
During this last extreme heat wave my home was without A/C for 10 days. I was able to make other arrangements. Hundreds in my building were not. It is only due to a principled property manager-and Mississauga's extreme heat bylaw!-that there were no heat casualties in my condo.
ER wait times are escalating across Canada according to a new report by Canadian Institutes of Health Research (https://t.co/nC7JHo8GA7). @RNAO has solutions! Read the ECCO 4.0 report (https://t.co/pkOAus5ALZ) for recommendations both downstream and upstream.

Wishing all my nurse colleagues and others @RNAO a Happy Nursing Week! This week in my mind especially is those nurses who help children & youth with mental health issues. You are making a big difference, especially under difficult circumstances.
1 in 5 youth are living with a mental health illness. Yet too many families face months-long wait-lists, overwhelmed systems, and the impossible choice between paying for help or going without it.
Youth are asking for support. We must stop responding with silence, stigma, and underfunding.
Mental health care is not a luxury. It is essential healthcare. This means real investment in counsellors, community programs, crisis services, school supports, and early intervention โ before young people reach a breaking point.
Check in. Listen. Advocate. Vote for policies that fund care. Demand better.
Because no young person should have to fight alone just to be heard. #YouthMentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness
An inspiring story showing how one NP works with a community Elder to incorporate Indigenous approaches to wellness โ central to helping people who may avoid or lack access to traditional health services. @RNAO https://t.co/0G4ObGoqvl
Harm reduction saves lives. Removing harm reduction options and forcing people into (non-existent) treatment beds is a 20th century solution for 21st century struggles. Join me in signing RNAO's Action Alert.
Supervised consumption services are evidence based, compassionate, and essential. Removing them will cost lives โ but together we can push for change.
Join us in urging Premier @fordnation to reverse the decision to close supervised consumption services: https://t.co/kFP4PmwTfO

People who rely on supervised consumption sites need support and compassion, not stigma and reduced choices. @RNAO and @DorisGrinspun are asking @FordNation to continue funding for life-saving SCS sites! Join us now: https://t.co/LRkmFhSv9d
RNAO President @LhamoDolkar2023 today shared her "healthy perspective" on a fed. Conservative motion proposing to restrict health care for refugees. https://t.co/Qw3YDelNgw As a 1st gen Canadian myself, I urge others like me to push back against slams to our newest newcomers.
